In that 4.1 seconds it took to go 0-60, I completely understood. Then I bought a supercharged Range Rover and got to enjoy the silliness of driving a fast, 5800lb SUV everyday.

Now I want to do the same with my heavy, unwieldy 850lb touring bike

Exactly this. Oh, and also the fact that you can crush 600 miles without issue while your buddy on a supersport needs an hour before he can stand upright ...

She feels it but no one else notices.

I run T bars, taller shocks, and will get to my motor when the time comes, but all this carbon fiber is utterly ridiculous. I've set y baggers up for "performance" (chuckling to self) since before this became the new trend. I like to lean my bike over and rai the throttle. I think is hilarious that people can fall for some of this. I say set your bike up for how you like to ride. Some guys like to cruise, some like to ride canyons at speed. I much prefer this trend to big wheels and air rides at least.
"Performance" is a relative thing. Make the giant bike a little lighter than the one next to it...and all other things being equal...will have more "performance" than the heavier one. The best weight that could be lost would be from our mid-sections. I like beer a little too much for that, though...

Besides, some people just like the look of gloss or matte carbon fiber. I would love to see a batwing fairing in gloss carbon fiber in person. If woven right, it would look pretty wicked.

I am not. had it dyno'd locally from a shop. Ill call them and see what they say, but dont really want to add a $400 dyno bill to the mids and pipe change lol. Hopefully I dont have to, but will if I do.

I cant stand riding with forward controls. Floorboards are OK and I could live with them, but I plan on keeping this bike for a while so what the heck...might as well make it how I want. They do help a little in handling being able to weight the pegs more, but its more for comfort and being able to cover the brake and shift levers without moving my feet. Sitting more upright with feet underneath is also better for my back. Personal preference.

...................also to the performance argument....obviously a 600cc jap bike is gonna kill a road glide with the same rider....but "Id rather ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow."
Also, bags and comfort for long trips are key.
Road glide isnt GREAT at anything, but its pretty good at a little bit of everything. More usable, IMO.
I had a 450cc supermoto that would turn on a dime at 80mph, but sucked on the highway or any road that didnt look like spaghetti. It was fun but it got old being SO good at tight roads and so bad at everything else.

trask pipe does not work with boosted Brad's mids. trask had to modify the pipe in order to run them on the bagger circuit bike.

crap really? it works with BBC mids so I assumed they'd be the same.
I've been talking to Stealth pipes and they say theirs will fit. Pretty much between stealth, trask if it fits, and BBC...though ive heard a lot of negative of BBC quality. And not sure if they fit boosted brad, but know they fit their own mids.
For $800 for a stainless pipe that they say will fit, I'll probably end up with a stealth.

Everything looks pretty good in the gear box except 5th gear input has some 'chatter' on it. Not sure what would've caused this. So probably will replace that too.
The needle bearings in the output shaft seem to be a little sloppy, so will replace those too. Everything else looks good in the transmission otherwise.

I am hoping that after all this, my vibration will be no longer. I haven't found anything real obvious yet.
I actually had my Darkhorse sprocket pulled today. It was intolerably loud, and was the cause of my neutral knock. The crank, on the other hand, is a work of art! My bike never really vibrated that bad, but is now, noticeably smoother. The Zippers cam plate and Feuling oil pump, are putting my oil pressure at 20psi, at idle!!! And 45psi while cruising. The 5.3 injectors seem to have made it more responsive. My stock piston oilers failed the pressure test. So they were replaced as well. The best part of all of this, piece of mind!

shes not liking this round of mods. cam installed, went for a ride and boom. sounds like the primary blew up. I think the clutch basket is toast. chain slap in the primary and wont go into gear. Bikes stuck at the local market...

If you just recently installed cams, I'd be looking in the cam chest before the primary.

Do you have a build thread on your bike? I really like how it looks, would like to know more specifics on it. Nice job and sorry to hear about the break down. Let us know what it turns out to be.

I’d love to see what my dyno shows now! It definitely has a huge bump in power. I’m not sure why, but it does. Feuling 5.3 injectors? Zipper’s blueprinted cam plate? Zipper’s dual piston cam chain tensioner? Feeling oil pump? Darkhorse crank? Timken conversion? The melted spark plug wire? Oversized roll pins to keep the lifters tracking properly? The fact that my exhaust gaskets were obstructing the exhaust pipe by as much as 1/8” all around? Or maybe, the dyno tune was set at 14.0/1 afr. and is now running richer and cooler, thanks to one of the best T-Max tuners there is? At any case, the bike burns through first too fast to avoid the dreaded rev limiter, without popping the clutch. The tire burn’s out with just a twist of the wick! Second gear gets squiggly as well, and again unintentionally hit the rev limiter. Third is manageable but pulls so friggen hard! Thing is, it has real power, in any gear. If you’ve never heard of Lucky Cycles, in Maryland, you don’t know what you’re missing. He’s partnered with Zippers, for almost 2 decades, and is actually referred to for T-Max tuning, buy Zipper’s. He also has a great relationship with Darkhorse. I’m super stoked. He said I could very safely, set my redline to 6,500rpm’s! I know it was still looking for more, so I’m in! I was literally shaking, from the rush, after I got back to the house.
