Default Street Glide Antenna Removal

Is there any special procedure for removing the antenna on an 07 Street Glide? I'm wanting to take it off so I can cut it down from the bottom part.

Thanks!

There is a small allen head set screw at the bottom, right where the ant. meets the taper. When you cut to length make sure you take the paint off with steel wool or sandpaper to get a good connection. I cut off 15" with no problem with reception.

Cut it to the same length as your car antenna, I think it is either 30 or 36". You will lose no reception at this length other than CB strength loss.
Or just get the shorty rubber antennas for the ultimate sleek appearance.

Good tip on the allenhead screw..didn't even know it had one.

I was wondering though about how the base of the antenna detaches from the frame. Is it just threaded in there or is there some other fastener? I tried grabbing the base and turning it but it didn't want to budge.

I believe there is a nut on the underside.

Back out the set screw, and thread off the antenna base.

I just installed a Tune Trapper on my 06 SG. Just removed stock antenna and grommet and installed a plug like on the right side. No more antenna and great reception. I love it!

Ride Safe,

Mike

You know I kinda like my eye-poker-tini. Keeps those less than knowledgeable away, sorta street glide self defence first strike capability thing happening there.
