I will be installing a big bore kit within several weeks. I have heard pros & cons about the 110 builds. My question is this: what would provide the most power and reliability, the 103 with headwork or the 110 kit?
The stock 110 has the same EPA restrictions as the 96 and 103 stock.
I have the 110 and love it. $3600 installed. However, I added Rinehart TD, SERT and SE A/C to my bike as well. Now it gets 99hp/115tq. The tq curves for the 110 are wider than the 103.
Anyway, it is your choice. I had my brother ride my 110 this past weekend - he was absolutely floored over the performance.
I plan to have my heads ported and polished in 2 years after my warranty is up, and possibly install different cams, but we shall see.
Don't bother going to the 110", you have to bore the cases....the 107's are basically bolt ons and are killer packages. A properly built 103 will give you somewhere in the range of 112/118 plus or minus a few hp and tq.
Sounds like the 103 package with a little headwork is the way to go. Who would yousuggest do the work? I'mlooking for maximum torque between 2500-4000 RPM. I never cruise faster than 75-80 on the freeway.
Dewey/ Bill Bishop/ BC Gerolomy/Dan Baisley /Big Boyz etc all do good head work. GMR Performance sells the 107 Kits and has CNC heads, Steve is EXCELLENT to work with.
