So I install the IDS myself on my 07 RG a few weeks ago, then learned about the elbow grease "rebate". I read so many different angles on this subject that I decided to e mail HDand tell themof my situation. I can tell you HD's customer service at Milwaukee is running on both cylinders. An HD rep called me at work a few days later,Monday,10-15-07. He told me there is no rebate for someone like me who installed this part themselves. He said the MOCO is aware of "issues" with the 07's and the fix was part of the 08 models (which is part of the reason why there was a price increase on the 08's + bigger gas tank, fly by wire etc.)
So if anyone elseon this thread is looking for a rebate of the part (ALONE)forget it. Its not gunna happen. The elbow grease rebate is only for the service/labor to install this part.
Still love my07 RGnow with the IDS !
Thats Typical my local service manager told me the only way to put IDS on my 07 was to purchase an 08 wheel, needless to say I ordered one elsewhere and did the install myself.
Is there something published somewhere the details this rebate?
Thanks...Dan
Its called "elbo greese" its listed on every website for hd dealers, use the search feature on here and find several threads on it. It does not just apply to the IDS it is for a bunch of dealer installed items.
I just found out this out today. The dealer installed my IDS, but because I purchased the part from another dealer (Zanotti) they wouldn't honor the elbow grease discount. They said I would only get the discount if I both purchased the part from the dealer and had it installed by the same dealer. But I did save about $100 purchasing it from Zanotti compared to MSRP.
Yes, PM me with your email and I will forward you the PDF File - it ends in October
the local Glendale dealer says there's goes thru January. And yes, it's called the "Elbow Grease" promotion with up to $500 in labor rebates. ($100 an item).
