The upside to the lowering kit is you still get a nice soft ride just like stock. Downside is you are shortening the height without reducing the shock travel. This can lead to the tires touching the inside of the fender. Doesnt sound like a big deal, but the taillight harness runs inside the fender above the tire on my 06. At highway speeds, tires eat wires pretty fast. The good news is the short harness only cost about $25 to replace.
In the end, I went with shorter shocks.

Do yourself a favor and send your shocks to bitchinbaggers and have them cut them down 1 , 1 & 1/2, or 2 inches. Cheaper than buying the new lowered shocks from HD and especially if you want to go lower than 3/4 to 1". Lowering kits suck in my opinion and everyone's got em'.

Had mine lowered 1 & 1/2" and pleased. Look at their chart and then you decide what's best. Ride Safe!!!

Im in agreement with tn chopper man.
Bitchin Baggers is the way to go they will turn out what ever length you want, The lowering blocks do no justice for any ride IMO.

Ride safe

Default What year SG?

What year SG? If it was 2003 or newer do you have any pictures on the install? My friend gave me a set he says look just like the bikersdelite kit. I don't have any directions on how to install the kit??
Thanks for any help you can provide!

I lowered mine an inch in the back 10,000 miles ago, to get better footing (Burley 1"; 28-274 $60 Ebay). It rides better than it did stock. Two up is no problem with my lovely bride on back (big girl too)- no bottoming out EVER and no harsh ride. I run 18 lbs in the rear two up.
