I see 2 options, and ways to go about getting the 06 motor running Right. #1. out of the box... NO mods until 1000 mile maintance. Go Stock until you have 1000 miles, THEN do Stage 1 air, Slip-ons or true Duals, SERT with Dyno... BINGO Problem solved... #2 Out of the box Do Stage 1 air, slip ons or true duals, SERT, no Dyno..... ENJOY the first 1000 miles, Then go in for 1000 Service and re- tune SERT with Dyno if necessary. BINGO problem solved and not much more money and look at all the fun you had the first 1000 miles on your NEW bike....... I'm asking, Is this Valid reasoning or am I OUT IN LEFT FIELD?
Thanks hdman
PS OF course if you are one of the lucky ones and the Bike runs GREAT out of the box then you may see option 1 as the better choice.
Downloads are on their way out. Now days the first thing you should add to your new bike is the SERT or PC III. Then the pipes, the air cleaner & everything else. The SERT lets you get rid of the evil EPA required settings and lets the stock bike take deeper breaths.
I went to the dealer today and talked to the service dept. I mentioned the 06 problems ie, tihe over heating, poping on decel. Coughing and running lean. They had never heard of any complaints about this before. I can not believe these guys. Like I said in a past post. you could push your bike in with the motor out of it and they would tell you that it was running normal.

Jeff, it's really funny. I get the same BS from my dealer. He makes it sound like I am the only one with these problems. They say no one else is complaining. Implying I must be nuts! I used to think the dealer was my friend but I've come to realize that my dealer is an A_ _ Hole! I refuse to give them another penny.
Could it actually be that other riders can't tell when thier '06 is not running right? I don't think so.
What I do think is that the MOCO and the dealers should read all the posts on this forum.
