If you actually see the volume bars decrease to mute, the radio is probably not the issue. Check the handlebar switch or wiring harness from the switch to the radio.

WOW, same here. I have an 09 EG Standard I bought new. I had the HD dealer install a HK radio. Recently, I noticed the volume shutting off, but all the other functions appeared fine. Volume bars show that it is on high, but no sound comes out. Shutting the radio off, then on again seems to work for a bit. This problem is sporadic but very annoying. Wonder how much the local HD dealer will charge to diagnose the issue. What is the warranty on radios anyway? I assume it 2 years, but not sure.

I just noticed that my HK radio has an intermittent loss of the LCD screen info.
It started the day it went to 37C (104F) Havn't seen it this week...low 90's. Why would the LCD blank out in heat. Any ideas?

I have a 2008 Road Glide, now on my 2nd stereo. First one the display went out after 25 months, dealer goodwill replaced in Aug 2010, now this one one the audio has stopped working. talked to Tony at Ironcross Audio and will send to them to fix. HD can kiss my $#%$, I will never spend another dime with HD. Called corporate and they wont even admit there is aproblem with HK stereos. Called dealer and cancelled my order for new 2012 Ultra Glide. I'll buy a BMW before I'll ever buy another Harley!

I know it's frustrating... my radio went out last week, but I did have the extended warranty.
how about a 2017 error
When I run the diags I get a 2017 FL Speaker Open.
Bike was dropped by local dealer while getting tires installed.
Had to replace the tour pack and inner/outer fairing
Upgraded all four speakers to boom audio,
Have the J&M Headset, radio looks like it's working, but no sound in any speaker or headset.
Same with intercom and CB nothing.
