I had the 4" SE's and didn't like them at all. Like someone said, they can be quiet just putting along, but they were very annoying at interstate speed especially at half or more throttle. They had a high pitched cracking sound that I didn't like. I now have the monster ovals which I really like. Sounds great at idle as well as any speed and throttle position. They have a lower rumble than any SE's I've had or heard and not annoying at all. Best thing to do is listen to other bikes before you make your decision.

I bought a set from a friend for my 08 FLHT and installed them. Not much difference in sound but my bike felt crisper under throttle.I took them back off and removed the inner pipe on the ends leaving an"echo chamber"and turned them over and took a chisel and hammer and removed the screen/baffeling in the inlet side. This really improved the sound.I now have the Rinehart True Duals with the Race Tuner and stage 1 air cleaner and never been more pleased.9hp and 9 ft lbs of torque extra was a nice surprise also.

They say they are street legal in a all 50 states.
I'm more into comfort then performance, but would like a little more sound.

Any thoughts on these would be appreicated.

I opted for the Kuryakyn Krushers. the sound to put it plain is a 1971 muscle car with glass packs!!! Not to loud and plenty of growl!!. a big difference in pep and no other mods but slip ons {20 Mins} out the door and riding
oh yead the built in visors make then look sweet!!!
