A few weeks ago, I updated my Zippers Smartlink software. At the same time I noticed there was a map update for my TMAT, like 523. I couldn't help myself, I also opted for the latest firmware update. I had no tuning issues, I just had the urge.
For whatever reason, the map or firmware update to the module, degraded rapidly, over 2-3 days. Unstable idle, power loss, etc.
The software has "Prepare & Send Module Date Email" and "Create & Send Monitor Log Email" Options in the Help Menu. So that is what I did.
Randy @ Zipper's immediatly discovered a problem & emailed my data to James, who was en-route to instruct a class but he called me from the airport. At any rate, Randy emailed to me, a firmware update & fresh map. Then Randy phoned me & we re-updated my module firmware & map. This time the update took & I've got 300 mi. ridden.
I'll be here to testify on the boys @ Zipper's behalf if they ever need me.
The send date email/monitor log functions are really cool tools too.
I bought a used unit and had some troubles with the software. The support staff at Zippers went way out of their way to help. I can't recommend them highly enough.
OOOOOOOOOOOOh.
Yeah, been there for a couple of their open house events. They do tuning classes and take questions, do dyno runs and evaluate your bike, etc. All of it geared toward selling something, of course. But, they know what they are talking about and can do a pretty fair job of correcting most any issue.
