My 08, had to have the crank seal replaced at 10,000 miles.
I would loose a quart of engine oil into the prim'y case in about a 2 hr ride!

But that's just me, that's where I've been, and that's how I learned to deal with my dealer and the MOCO on warranty matters.

I'm hoping you ain't gotta do all that.

You have got to be kidding.

If I was your dealer, I would tell you that your lawyer's fees are on your tab. I would always give my dealer and HD the opportunity to make it right. Of course, I have always had good experiences with Harley, the company and the several dealerships with whom I have done business.

Don't let a couple of dipshitz service writers get to you. They are not the one's that will be making the decisions. They really do sound like idiot a**holes.

that is even getting worse than your problem if the dealership isn't trying to help you.

Without flaming the issue I would like to know how this comes out, there is a great debate in the Pontiac circles on synthetic oils and failures people are having. The issue supposedly being the unique loads that that the torquey pontiacs produced. I would assume there are some similarities between a V-twin and the pontiac, so it is interesting, although with the last true Ponitac engine being produced in 79 you would think HD would have much better/ newer technology. With that said, the service writers sound like a couple of a$$'s..............

Ask them why HD puts Synthetic in the CVO's as "factory fill".
I wonder what mailorder course they took for their degrees.

surely harley can afford better lawyers than most of us. and people who threaten to sue, are usually full of hot air that is of an adolescent nature at best. adopting an adversarial attitude to your dealer and service department, is a sure way to get less than satisfying results. you do what you gotta do. but i hope you get your problem worked out. if they're trying to work with you, as they should, great. but threats just throw a monkey wrench into the mix. i'm very pleased with the service dept, parts people, and sales staff where i bought my harley a couple of years ago. if i weren't comfortable with them, i'd have bought somewhere else. good luck, hope you get it worked out.

Don't let them azzholes spool you up, just make sure they find out what is wrong....There is nothing in the rule book that says you have to use HD oil....and if they don't check it to your satisfaction call the HD 1-800 number and they will light a fire under there butts.
