Hawg wired handlebars controls didn't work when I woke the bike up
My battery died once over the winter. I have had it on a tender since I jumped t. Today I take her ou and my handlebar cntrols aren working the alpine. How do u reset? Do I need to drop the fairings or is there another trick?
Kinda off topic, but did you install that handlebar control kit yourself? If so, how hard was it? How well does it work?
Off topic continued lol. Installed the Sony kit and new HU two weeks ago. Works like a charm and a walk in the park to install.
To the OP: Double check all of your connections in the fairing etc to be certain that nothing has come loose and when you ur in there, I'd put some die electric grease on your connections. The handle bar controls aren't HW.. still Moco obviously but if all of your HW connections are good and zero issues, ask yourself what else has changed if anything aside from the obvious.
If you jumped the bike using a car with the car's engine running, you may have damaged the bike's electronics.
Biketronics suggests disconnecting the negative battery termnal for five minutes or so. I have no idea what this accomplishes, but it's part of some reset procedure. Perhaps that will work with the HW interface module also.
There's a tab on HW's website: "Common Problems" and identifies the situation where the headunit powers up but the handlebar controls don't work. I tried to copy that portion and here's the link:
After the above post, I checked the link and it isn't the "common problems" link, but you will see the tab "Common Problems." Click on it and you'll find the one describing HSA not working (radio works but handlebar controls don't).
