I just installed 12.5 Chubbies (wo577) on my 08flhx and love them. I was also feeling the strain on my neck/shoulders and this was one of the best things I could have done. I did get the harley diamondback clutch and brake lines (+6) and didn't need the extension for the tbw. With 20% off, you can get the cables for about 250.00 and wire extension kit for about 70.00(shipped). The bars were about 195.00 so that brings the total up to about 515.00 and less if you only get the clutch and top stock brake line. You can do the job if you have time and patience. If not, find an INDY or mechanic to do it on the side. Should only cost another 200.00 for that labor if you go in with everything. (oh, also need brake fluid and tranny fluid so add another 20.00).

Thank you very much FLHX08! you da man, take your advise and take my time to do it right. Yes the local dealer charges about 4 hours working plus parts; it's roughly $550-$600. it would burn my pocket,LOL,

What did you guys do about mirrors - I like the 575s but not crazy about switching out mirrors - but I like to use them. I guess my question is if you leave them stock can you see them properly? I plan to install them and lean them back towards me - not so much interested in lifting my hands.

Ok, here is a little secret, as a wrench the easyist way, is to remove the 2 bolts on the sides of the switch cover, remove the outer fairing, take the 4 bolts out of the spot light bracket, unplug it, and set a side, remove the crome cover, lift up and back on the inter fairing , just have to move it back enough to get to the bolts, then put it back together when done, ,Its a lot easer and faster than removing the ign switch and radio, just to get to the handlebar bolts

sorry for the long delay on posting a pic but here you go. no problem using the stock fairing mirrors, which is why I went with these bars, along with not being a fan of the monkey bar thing. why have a full fairing if I want my hands up in the wind, but to each their own as they say.

Any luck donig a search? I know it may take a few posts before you can post a thread - good place to get you post count up is on the welcome thread - go there anyway and say hi - good place to get to know folks and bump that post count. Not sure how many you have to get to - I thought it was not too many, but once you are approved - start a thread with your question on the touring board and you'll get some answers.
