I'm just wondering, I don't know if this is right or not. I just bought a K+N air filter for my stage 1. It seemed to give a few more horses to my U.C.08. But, now it feels like its running hotter than before. I checked It out with the InfraRed thermometer, On the front cylinder it read 274*F on the rear cylinder it read 360*F This was right buy the spark plug. Am I doing this right or do I need to go get another tune? I would appreciate any advice I can get. Thanks
That's right It is getting more air, but is it getting that much more that I would have to have it tuned again? 360*F that's hot. But that is at the spark plug, Is that normal for the infaRed at that spot?
prob not, but if you added pipes into the mix, then you would.
If you added pipes and air intake (not just a filter),it would also prob run crappy. The computer can only re-adjust so much until you need to get a new tuner.

Were you running the stock H-D air cleaner before that?
The K&N could cause a short term lean condition. The newer bikes will eventually adjust for the increased air flow and maintain the lean and hot 14:1 F/A ratio. Takes about 30-45 minutes riding time and several starts for the ECM to adjust the F/A ratio. All the Harley stage 1 download does is change the RPM limiter to 6000, it does not change the F/A ratio.

Good info, That's why I'm thinking It's got to be alright I rode two-up a couple hours in 90*F today. But still 360*F just don't look good do you know what I mean?
