I have a 08 rk that will not start (plenty of battery but will not crank)..
It sat for a couple of weeks.. got a pretty good washing in the rain the other night, It seems as though it in the security system..fuel pump comes on when ign is switched on , but flashers start flashing l/r/l/r/l/r/ etc..then turn key off and lights continue to flash for a moment or two...has anyone else encounted this concern or have any ideas as to what the issue could be.. i dont have owners manual or factory code for alarm but my fob has always been all i need to start the bike HELP !!!

The flashing turn signals are the clue! Your security system is not seeing the fob. Try your other fob, get a new battery or get out your wallet card and use the security code to disarm the system.
installed new battery and now lights dont flash but still no crank..(no fuel pump running either)
is there a certain amount of time to wait for security system to reset itself after so many failed attempts??
it always pays to check the dumb stuff first. do you have an excellent ground from your negative post to the frame? and are your battery terminals clean and tight? remember that goofy switch on the right handlebar, the off/on switch.......trust me, more than once i've gotten on a bike and someone has turned it off with that switch rather than the ignition switch.
