Default Service manual question?
I have a 2010 flhx. I was given a 2009 touring service manual. Is there any changes in the 2010 manual that anyone knows of, or can I go by the info in the 2009 manual and be OK? Thanks!!

I'm sure proof readers found some mistakes in the '09 manual, but HD made all new ones in the '10 manual.

I guess it's a personal comfort level, but I'd want the same year manual as what my bike is.

Why would you accept an '09 for a '10?

much of the manual will be close, but the time to find out isn't when you have something apart and the instructions don't match what you see.

You could look to do a swap.

IMO the 09 manual will serve you just fine. Things like the 5th gear change in the transmission to helical cut from straight cut will be different, but if you are like me, I will never need the manual for something like that because it is over my head.

The manual is actually on a CD. I am going to just print it out and use it mainly for routine maintenance and small easy stuff. I would not attempt anything big. Thanks for the input.

There must be some changes in the 2010 vs. 2009 service manual. I saw (and may have) a .pdf that showed all the changes to the 2010 model from the 2009 model year, so there has to be some modifications there.
