Love mine but then again like posted above it depends on how tall you are riding style and seat height. Put 14" on a road king and Im just a c hair over 6 ft and love it.
I like the looks of Apes on bikes with the bigger FL front end. Not so much on the other bikes. I actually thought of installing black 14" on my 12 Fatboy Lo but i liked the stock reduced reach Fat bars so much i stuck with them!
OK so now I am confused. lol "Apes" are a lot more comfortable. "Apes" are dumb! Really who cares what everybody else thinks. I know that I don't like the stock bars. I like the looks of taller bars. I hope the bike won't lose any handling with the new 21" wheel and the hopefully new bars. Questions for ya all with bars. How tall can I go so my hands are not over the fairing and still see through the stock mirrors if thats a option? I am only 5'9" so I am thinking of 10" or 12". Is there any major difference between the bars other than design? Can I use stock cables with 12" bars? Also what about grips, should a guy change them out too? Finally the last question is about install. Is it fairly easy to do the install?
Did you ever get an answer to this Q? I am also 5'9" and had not thought of this until reading all the way through the thread. I get back and shoulder pain now after my accident and am wondering if Apes may help. I don't know anyone that has them so I have no basis for comparison on this. Can stack cables be used with 12"? Inquiring minds want to know.

No I just had the 12's put on over winter and the order +6 on clutch cable and brake lines and extended and soldered the wires and the TBW.
