Any help would be greatly appreciated
Do you need to raise it up that much to ride it? I only put 60-70psi in mine and I'm nowhere near hitting the exhaust. I can hit the exhaust when I'm showing off the system but when riding I don't have it up that high.

Why does everyone think you need to have the system aired all the way up to ride? If you know it hit's don't air it up that high.

Sorry I'll step off my bitch box now.

i have been checking out all 63 pages of this thread and i would like the guys that have had this set up for a while share all the part numbers they used and where to get them, it would be great if the OP would put it in the original post cause i remember seeing it before just don't remember the page it was on.

I got my bike finally done, the air ride is sweet!! Now that I have the 4" stretched bags I need to raise mine up pretty damn high or else the bags will scrape, ask me how I know?? Pissed, on the first ride I scraped up the bottom of the r/s bag.

OutlawBiker and coolerman, are you guys using the monroes or gaberials?
Im using gaberials and seem to need 100-120lbs (im 210lbs) to get a good ride, that puts my shocks around 13" while seated. Thats not really a problem, but if I hit a good bump the rebound of the shock hits the pipes and I get the big WHACK!
there is nothing to keep the shock from hitting full extension when the rear is unloaded, I think thats where limiting the shock to 13.5" would be nice.
So... maybe its a gaberial vs monroe issue?
My other thought is im using 1/4" line, maybe the 1/8" has less total air in the system and gives a firmer ride and less travel due to less air to compress when a bump is hit.

Any thoughts?

WOLFMAN - I had the same problem and attempted to use a nylon limiting strap to avoid as you call it "THE BIG WHACk". Here's the problem I had and decided quickly to remove the system. The "BIG WHACK" is the axle nut or shock bolt hitting the pipe but on my 09SG it was also the swingarm crashing off of the top of the tranny. The limiting strap was a good idea but would only work with the shocks mounted upside down. They still worked, but in the upside down position, they are 100% air ride and zero dampening. So the rebound was fast and didn't produce a nice ride. As I continue to follow the thread even though I removed my setup, it still looks like guys are having good results. Although not for everyone, it still works for many. Your question about 1/4" compared to 1/8" I don't believe has any bearing on this condition. My two cents if its worth anything.

Strap only works with the shocks mounted upside down so the result is zero dampening.
I decided to remove the system.

Put some good miles on this system now and am starting to really like it. Not having any problems with bolts hitting pipes unless im showing off . Seems like allthe problems with interference of parts hitting is on the new style frames. i.e. hitting top of trans etc. Just my .02.

Think you might be right on the 09 up having some issues. Got over 10k on mine and I'm still lovin it. Most people unhappy with a 21 front are also on an 09 up frame. Guess there really is a difference in the new frame. Glad both of mine are 08s.
