Well you can add me to the list. I just ordered everything but the switch, solenoid, and relay from amazon.com for $170. I already had those 3 things in my toolbox from previous projects.
I just got through reading all 73 pages of this thread. At the beginning I thought that this air system would be my next thing to do to my 09 Ultra. But towards the last I'm having my doubts.
Last year I put a set of Ohlin's on. I love them as they calmed the harsh ride and bottoming out that we got with the stock air shocks. However I hate the preload adjustment on them. I ride in four different modes; single, two up, two up with luggage, and two up with trailer. The preload collar is a bitch to work with; take the bags off, jack up the bike and turn (very slowly). It's virtually impossible to do except at home in the garage.
I'm looking for something else and thought this thread was the way to go. But with the complaints I'm hearing from some and a comment from Coolerman69 about this not being a mod for a better ride I'm left wondering.
Some questions: With my style of riding, what would you suggest? I like the ability of an on board air system with adjust on the fly capability. But is Corvette shocks aren't what I need, then what about other brands; Legends, Arnott, Progressive Air Draggers? Pros and cons of each system? Any and all input would be appreciated.

Coolermans statement was aimed at the posters that wanted to install them, never adjust them and expect them to be the best thing since the shirt pocket. They are most definitely better than the best shock harley produces on its best day. I have never owned or ridden a set of ohlins but i've never heard anyone say the monroes werent better. They are better than any of the other mass produced air ride systems. I've installed 20+ of these systems and NEVER have had any complaints about the ride. I have 3 more scheduled for next week. Not everyone can be made happy no matter what. Unless you are one of these people, try it, you'll like it.
I'm getting close to 15k miles on my set up. My experience has been all positive. The more weight on the bike the better the ride. I can set the air for 2-up with luggage and never bottom out. I can set the air for solo and never bottom out or on better road drop the air for a little smoother ride. My setup will clear the fender and taillight harness when completely dropped so in case of problems I can still get it home. Main issues with the 09 up frame are the lower bolts may contact the mufflers, especially if running 4" mufflers. Trim the width of the lower shock eyes and increase the "dent" in the mufflers to help with that issue. Still lovin mine.
With the 09 and newer frame, IMO, I would stay away from this setup. I tried it, worked the bugs out, found the air pressure sweet spot and experienced too many issues that could cause a failure. I too installed the Ohlins and have the same issues (adjusting preload is a pain in the A$$). For now I'm sticking with them until Progressive or RaceTec comes out with something different. If your looking for functional cool, the air ride will give you that. If your looking for functional performance, I believe you have it. Air lines, fittings and compressors all have the potential to fail hundreds of miles from home. A shock with a spring may fail but not to the point where you can't get home without a trailer. Again and I quote, this is my honest opinion only. Ride safe and Merry Christmas.
