Please remember Gabriel makes shocks that work also. The difference is the air bag is internal instead of being out in the open..
They're also a tad longer fully compressed. I run them on my 07 with 1" lowering blocks, and a 150/80-16 and no rubbing at all. Having the air bag covered makes me feel better even though nothing is really close to them.
What's the Gabriel part number by chance? And will the stock lines on my 06 SG bolt right up so I can use them to pump them up? How do the Gabriel's ride vs stock? Just going for a better ride over stock but not looking to pay 5-600 for some.
They ride better than stock and I'm guessing are very comparable to the monroe's. You should be able to make the lines fit just like you can on the monroe's. I would definitely push you towards putting a compressor and dump valve on it while your at it instead of just filling off a hand pump or your garage. It's a lot easier to fine tune it while your riding this way and shouldn't cost more than $200-220 all together.
dam that drops hard, i asume you dont adjust it on the fly much? you like yours set up like that? i have mine dropping at nice steady pace so i an adjust it easily
No problems adjusting. I do most of my adjusting up not down. I can tap the switch to just let a tiny amount out. I treat it like a low rider when I drop it.. and I drop it everytime I park. Just easier to get off the bike. Almost 10,000k on this setup. 520 miles in the rain this weekend in Upper Michigan.
Mine rides great. There are some spots that I hit almost everyday that with the stock shocks I thought something broke when I hit them & the Gab's go right over & I barely notice the bad spots.
