Rick leave the stock air lines on the bike. In the air line kit which comes with the Monroe's there are two extra shock fittings. Slightly enlarge the hole, slide fitting onto stock air line, install o-ring and tape it water tight with electrical tape. Tuck it out of sight and you have it as a back up method of airing up the shocks. If you have a hand pump... The engine heat will not affect the air line if ran in the wiring chas under the tank.i did a 2010 sg and left the lowering kit on without rubbing BUT It had a 17" wheel with the shortest tire made.
If you don't have abs there is a nice little shelf on the right side just begging for an air compressor

Thanks to all for the advice. I do have the ABS so I will have to mount it under the fairing or in the saddlebags. Now I need to figure out how to open the fairing. Before I open it I am going to try to se if there is room behind the saddle bag between the wheel and the bag. If there is not enough room , then I will try the fairing.

As far as running the tube to the rear, I was looking at it tonight and it looks like there are wires running across the top of my tank under the crome trim work that runs down the center of the tank. Im going to try to remove the trim and see if I can route it under it.

The 98C pump , 1/8" tubing, dump valve and fittings arrived today. The CVO swith should be here next week and the shocks and gauge will be here Tuesday. I want to stay with 1/8 tube all the way because I want more (slow) control of the dump.

Well it's taken a few hours to get through 88 pages, but I'm sold on giving this a go. My only problem is I'm in Australia so by the time I put together the shopping list of parts, shipping from the States from different companies is going to drive up the bottom line (and Amazon often doesn't even ship to Australia). I'm not even going to try and source the parts locally.

I have a couple of questions though.

I have trouble finding shocks to suit as I'm only around 130 pounds so most shocks are too harsh. I also like to have my ride height as high as possible for cornering clearance. If I air up these shocks to 12 - 13 inches of ride height with just me on the bike, will they feel harsh? Which of the two shocks will feel softer at this ride height?

My concern is that for my weight, I'll have to run less PSI for them to feel comfortable and they'll then be lower than I want.

Bike is an 09 Ultra with removable top box.

I am guessing that you will have to do a lot of playing with the pressure to get the ride to your liking.

With my setup, running high air pressure (I weigh 170), the ride can be very harsh. If my pressure is too low, it feels bouncy.

There is a 'sweet spot' that I can usually find by airing-up...then releasing a bit of air to adjust.

Having an air gauge is ultimately important (in my opinion) so that you have a point of reference to air pressure...the problem is every leak I have ever had was due to the connection at the gauge. It's the weak link in the system.

Just my $0.02.

Where is everyone getting their 1/8" line in socal? I tried two autozone's and they're saying they have no air shock hose kits or line for this application altogether.

Thats bc most of those workers are dumb/uneducated. Just tell them you need 1/8 hose that is rated to handle 150 psi or so. I know theyll have it.

Wy not just use what comes with the shocks and then those dumb uneducated people won't get under your skin

Ok so I am going to knock this out this weekend on my 2014 SG. I have the shocks, compressor, dump valve, two tees, relay, inline fuse holder with 15a fuse, 1/8 OD air line and I need to buy a 1/4 to 1/8 reducer for both the compressor and the dump valve or I will leave 1/4 from the compressor to a 1/4 tee then to the dump valve on one side and the reduce it out to another tee to the shocks. Not sure just yet, depends on what the hardware store has in stock. I need a three position switch (bought one but it is huge) which I plan on mounting on the frame above the transmission somewhere. I do not think I am missing anything. I also ordered a wedge for the jiffy stand. I already pressed the poly bushings into the shocks to reduce my working time this weekend. Anyone have any problems with their bike sitting too vertical or anyone use a wedge just to make sure? Also, I have seen pictures behind the right side cover of a 13 or older model but none for a 14 just yet. Thanks guys for all the information and hopefully I will not need any help!
