I always thought those 03 RK CVOs where really nice bikes with ugly paint. Can't wait to see this one when it's finished.

Looking forward to more pictures as you progress.

It doesn't seem possible to build a CVO for less than half the price, though. Maybe, if you did your own labor and bought all the parts at a discounter. I wonder if anyone has done a spreadsheet calculating the cost of each and every upgrade against what a similar CVO model could be purchased for.

A CVO has a VIN number indicating that it is a CVO. The resale would be substantially more for a true CVO than for a similar model with equal upgrades, if that matters to you.

I have never considered a CVO preferring, instead to customize with upgrades of my choice.

I believe that bike is for sale to anyone that has $60,000. A far cry from a CVO.

As one of this people that Can't write a check for a CVO. I'll just have to work on my 2009 Road King a little at a time.

And there is nothing wrong with that either. What I am trying to do is build a custom Streetglide with a budget of less than half of the new '11 CVO. Yes, I know it is a 03 Road King, I am not stupidly thinking it will be worth more than a new one. However, if you notice, I started with a 100th anniversary Screaming Eagle CVO Road King, with the 103 engine, and all the chrome accessories, and my goal is to build my own SE Steetglide that when I am done, will look like a one off factory CVO. I am actually surprised no one said anything about me screwing up my Screaming Eagle, and ruining the value and such!!!!
I actually was going to post something about how you are ruining a perfect SE Roadking, but to each their own. I'm sure that your new Street Glide will be cool, but don't call it a SE Streetglide when you are done. That is like putting a Snake on your Mustang GT.

I used to really be into this stuff a while back, but took a break and went a completely different direction. Now that I am back, it looks like a lot of the stuff I took for granted back then doesn't seem to really happen any more- actually it seems everybody buys their stuff already done by the MOCO- or they leave it close to stock. Now I am not trying to start anything here, just calling it how I see it.

If I have already lost you- I apologize. Anyways, I saw a 09 CVO Road Glide and I liked it- and then I went over to the dealership and saw a new 11 CVO Street Glide, and I really, really liked it.........until I saw the price. Now its not that I can't afford it, I just don't want to. So I sat down and figured I can build just as cool Street Glide for about half the investment.

So I picked up a 03 Screaming Eagle Road King from a friend of mine(funny thing is I sold it to him back in 03) and started ripping in to it. Thought you guys might want to see how it turns out- or not.

68NIOU1, i understand completely what your saying! your gonna make your bike the way you want it and do it your self. thats cool, not alot of people on here can say that. at least your not posting asking which piece of chrome you should have your dealer instal next or some other B.S. keep the pics coming!
