I did my own installation too. Very straight forward especially w/ the instructions that come with the kit. The switch removal should be in the DIY section here on the forum. If not, someone here can step you through.

I believe it is 69227-04A but would like a confirmation from someone who has already purchased and installed it.

This is NOT the kit that you want to buy for your Street Glide. This kit is for other touring bikes that already have the passing lamps. It replaces the bar that is original equipment on EG's, Road Kings, etc.

Pay more money for a Street Glide......then pay more money to make it into an Electra Glide....hmmmmmmm I think it would also look good with the rear crash bars......[8D]

I bought my Street Glide because of a height issue I have, I'm only 5' 5". I was considering the Road King, EG Standard, and the Street Glide. When I sat on each of them at the dealer I "fit" best on the Street Glide due to it's lowered rear end. This was my first touring bike purchase, I owned a Sporty prior to it. As such I wasn't as educated as I am now (thanks to this forum) on the differences between the 3 bikes I was considering. To me the Street Glide was just a better fit for me over the other two and I really didn't give much consideration to the different looks of the bikes. If you see the addition of passing lamps as an attempt to make the Street Glide look like an EG Standard, then you are right you don't get it. BTW, I added comfort profile rear crash bars as well but my bike still doesn't look like an EG Standard.

Just what BDJHOG said---except for the height part---and I'd like to place emphasis on the part of not looking like a EG Standard.
The last time I checked it was ok to add and/or remove parts on your scooter as you see fit (you just have to pay for the parts).

I would have a lot more disposable cash in my pockets if it were not for this forum---you guys give me great ideas.

Thank you forum members
