I was reading the instructions to install the HD Premium air horn kit 69423-05. The instructions say to remove the tank to run the horn harness as needed. Has anyone done this install without removing tank?
What your and model is your bike? On my 07 FLHTP I can lift the tank enough to fish wires under it. Other years may be different. Remove the front and rear bolts, slide a piece of wood under it to hold it up, and install the new wires. I often use a long thick zip-tie to push through, with the new wires taped to the zip-tie.

I just did the same thing when installing a Powerlet PowerBar Plus outlet, except instead of a piece of wood I used my wife. Lifted it up high enough and she snaked the wires back to the battery.

I have a 2011 Ultra Limited. I was thinking about using the long thick zip-tie method.

Thanks
Don't be afraid to take the tank off. It's not that big of a deal. Get a quick disconnect (if you have the crossover line), and it's much easier to take it off in the future.
The one thing I don't like about fishing under the tank, is that the wire will sit between the tank and the wire conduit, but not in the conduit. It's just something I prefer doing, rather than fishing it.
Dude, you're overthinking it. The new H-D tanks come off very, very easily. Just make sure your fuel level is low so the tank is light. Two bolts in front of the seat, one bolt on either side of the front of the tank. Quick disconnect on the fuel line. Lift off and set it aside. You'll be happy you did it as it's so much easier to route your lines inside the wire harness on the frame. Do it right the first time.
