I put the 120R in my 13 Street Bob. In this area almost all have went into baggers. I talked to a rider that had 14,000 miles on his and he has not had a problem.
I do a very slow and long run in on all my bikes. Did the first 100 miles at 50 mph in fifth. Did the next 900 miles at no more than 2,500 rpm. Each fill up mpgs rose. At the last fill up (have to fill at every ride) it checked out at 47.4 mpg! I will stay under 3,500 rpm until the 3K mark. If I need a power fix I just take out the Vrod or Buell.
It will be a while before I decide if I need to go to a cast wheel and larger tire. 190 Avons will fit. The spoked wheels and 160 cross section stock tire might not last once it is unleashed.
Anyone needed a complete 103 even with it's own ECM loaded with a SuperChips Vigilante tune? 5,707 miles and run in with my usual long slow process?
6000 miles on my 120 and it still puts a smile on my face every time I ride it. No issues to report. Fuel mileage is not a concern. Like anything, the harder you ride it, the more you'll consume. Been out to Sturgis in the hills and heat of the West, no issues with drivability whatsoever. It made 131 at the rear wheel.
I ride mostly 2 up and ride spirited, but I don't pull wheelies and beat the bike from stop light to stop light laying rubber. If you're that kind of rider, you're going to experience breakage and wear on any build but that's all part of the game!
To anyone considering it - I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. I sold my 103" with 4k miles on it on eBay for $3500 and did my 120" for $7400 installed out the door, so the net of the install for me was $4k. Can't beat that. That was 3 years ago now, so not sure what a 103 is selling for these days - or what a 120" is going for either.
120R with D&D exhaust 52 mm intake performance clutch. Installed oversize oil pan and oil cooler to bring down motor temp and save my leg, that was the best thing I did for the bike. Have no ID about MPG and dont care. Have 10,000 miles no issues yet and I am very hard on bikes. Dont race but will travel for over an hour between 80 & 100. Love embarrassing rocket bikes on highway when they pull next to me and try to show off. Short runs I do fast takeoff and dont even have to use clutch to shift with the performance clutch. Pushing 135 HP and torque. I 💘 this motor and bike. 1st and only Road King with factory sound system. This is probably my last bike.
