Default King Down

Hey everyone , Just a small note I was riding bike home yesterday from work and I proceeding to pass a farm tractor and a p/u the old farmer decided to turn left into his field. Not hitting the tractor I layed the bike down it flew me up in the air doing two flips (it would have scored high). The bike didnt get hurt to bad, saddle bag ,highway bars and the floorboard. I will post pictures of the bike . It will be a good time to install some of the parts I had ordered. Broke the ankle in 3 places. But Im doing good . In need of a cast with a skid plate on the bottom.

glad you are not hurt seriously. Did you learn anything? I have lived rural most of my life around farm equipment. Most farmers will signal you when to pass, if they don't, don't pass because it either isn't safe or they are getting ready to turn off.

Glad your ok. You hear alot of accidents involving farmers turning left at the last second. I'm just going to assume there going to do it when I'm behind them for now on. Get that ankle heeled and again, glad your OK.

Having grown up in the country, I don't pass ANY farm implement until I get the "go ahead" signal from the farmer. Yeah, they SHOULD look, but they're often preoccupied with other things, so I figger better safe than sorry. Take care of that ankle an' start plannin' on the new accessories!

Glad to hear you're (you are) ok. I just got back to work after an 11 week recuperation from totalling my 07 EG Classic. The bones will heal and you can fix the bike. I'm heading to the dealer today to look at a couple used Road Kings and Heritage Softies. Gotta get back on.

Living in the country I have found that if a farm tractor is going down the road the farmer in most cases is not very far from his house and he is only using the road to get from one of his fields to another so he is going to turn right or left very soon. Unless he looks back, sees me and signals for me to pass I will hang back till I am sure of what he is doing and where he is going. Well for you hind sight is 20/20. Glad you were not more seriously injured. A lesson learned..............BG
