6'3" never ride without it....bent the support rods back further (with heat) to suit me. Way to upright, stock! Can stretch out & no vibration transmitted to back.

I have the HD backrest and have been thinking about doing the same thing. It seems a little to upright for me. But if I bend it back I will still be able to adjust it foward if I wanted to.

I have the adjustable back rest by Harley. Getting on and off the bike from the right side is easier. The left side of the seat is lower when the bike is on the jiffy stand. You don't have to swing your leg high, your leg can brush up over the seat easier. It's wierd getting off and on the bike from the right but easier. My passerger ALWAYS gets on from the left though.

Short ride around town I usually leave the backrest at home. Long ride - always take the backrest.

For no particular reason, I just don't use mine. It's new except that I somehow put a very light scratch on the leather. IT IS NOT A TEAR!. I'll sell it if anyone is interested. It's the one that cost $180. I'll sell it for $125 and pay the shipping. I can send pictures if anyone is interested. It is off my 02 RKC.

I've got the Harley hydraulic adjustable back rest on the Road Glide and love it. Allows me to change positions while riding for better comfort. Have a Mustang back rest with Mustang Solo seat on the Deuce. Love it also. Never take my back rests off.

I'm 65 and feel the back rests and windshields give me the comfort level I want now days.
