Question FLHTC Handle bar install mini ape???

I have a 2009 FLHTC and im looking at some better handle bars to put on my bike..Right now at full lock(u-turn) I hit my leg and isnt the most comfortable plus I have to look down at the controls...Im 5'11"...and technically I need to sit forward when I do this for best position for that manuver

I would like to know how much effort it is to put these mini apes on..Im looking at the Harley 57474-11 new batwing mini apes...with new cables 38924-09,42439-08,44905-08 for non-abs.. should I route cables in the handle bars?
It supposed to put bars right at top of batwing so that seems comfortable to me..as I used to have a 2007 streetbob...

I am mechanically inclined..ive installed tourpak spoiler..CB radio with antenna..exhaust and tuner so far on this bike and kury grips...much more stuff with cars...

I put Wild One 575's on my Limited. The only thing I had to replace was the clutch cable. I did have to re-route some of the wiring inside the fairing. I ran all of the wiring inside the bars. It took me about 8 hours total to complete the job.

I'm only 5'8" but I really like the Khromewerks 300515 +2 wide sweepers.
These bars are 2" taller , 2" closer and 3" wider than stock.
I only had to use a +3" harley (black) clutch cable to complete the change.
I didn't go internal on the wiring , but you can if you want , they're set up for it either way.
Pretty inexpensive mod for more comfort.

575's are 2 inches taller,2 inches wider and 2 inches closer than stock. They keep your hands just behind the fairing. Works for me, but I would not call them "apes." I did not have to use a longer clutch cable. I have no stereo (EG Standard). The cable was routed behind and over top of the "Glovebox". I re-routed it under the box and gained about 3 inches of cable. Presto changeo!

It seems the 575 or harley mini apes would be good it seems like mirrors will still be too low for me...I hate not being able to test different styles...

I think the HD mini apes are taller. I believe stock is 8 inches and my 575's are 10 inches.

I think the harley is supposed to be 12"...but they only have one cheesy stock picture...so its hard to judge

but im thinking the 12 will be good...possibly a little shorter than the WO577 at 12.5" so I think im going to go with those...I get 15% off at 3 dealers in my area
