Bars are installed!!! Rode in to work this morning and reeeeally looking forward to the ride home! :-)
I have some observations from my 40 mile commute. They are 10's BTW
---They are awwwwwesome...
---hands completely in the air...a good thing (which means I now need a set of gloves to wear between my perforated and my Gerbings)
---Grips clear fairing but bars do not. It satisfies my feeling that bars shouldn't clear the fairing while still giving me much needed height, better wrist angle, and looks. Seeing the grips/controls peeking above the fairing, when looking at it head-on, looks bada$$
---Something that might be important to note is that they are pushed all the way forward as close the the fairing as possible and I am 6 ft. with a 32 inseam.
---I slouch a little in my natural riding position so while these are below my shoulders it's not by much.
---Mirrors (perch mounted) are MUCH MORE usable than b4!!! I used to really have to make an effort to use the mirrors but no longer.
---Clutch cable is damn near invisible. Re-routed it. So cool! You'll see when I put pics up.
---Speaking of re-routing I am still thinking about routing brake line through bars but don't want to go through the dealer bleeding for ABS. Considering what I did with clutch I'm now wondering if I can send the brake line straight into the fairing and let it run through there.
---no wrist angle at all!
---Steering seems more sensitive in a good way. More control.
---Wind seemed to push the bike around more but I think this might have been a coincidence. I don't see how the bars should have that affect.
---My grips have holes straight through to the bars and Yaffe did not chrome under the grips, so they are making me a new set. They will take these back but if anyone wants a set of 10's. Depends on timing of course. If you are reading this a month from now you could have a set of 10's really quick.
---When I push my left turn signal it sends me through radio options (bass, treble, etc). No button makes the turn signal work. I know I wrote down wires right and put them back in the right places but apparently messed up so I gotta do some work on that.
---Headlight is not working so I think either I didn't re-connect, or much more likely when I had fairing angled forward playing with clutch it came undone.
---Security and check engine lights stayed on whole ride in. Maybe b/c of either or both of the previous two comments. Maybe has something to do with the involved tune-up/maintenance I did while doing the bars.
---Don't think there is any way I'll wish I went with 12's, as many have predicted I would, but I need a lot more riding time first to be sure of that statement.

Here is pics of mine. they are 12". using original clutch and brake line. cables are tight but no real issues so far. clutch cable is outside the fairring now though. manually extended the wires by soldering in extra wire. TBW no extension needed. At 6"2" me sitting (sloutching) comfortably these have my arms just slightly angled upward, maybe an inch or two above my shoulders. hands are in the wind, no big deal, its a bike, your supposed to be in the wind. I like the way the top arc of the bars matches the arc of my windshield. i think bar height will also depend on which seat you have as well, i would say make sure you have the seat you will stick with and then measure up for bars. I put on a, I think its a, road glide seat (2009) before they went to say as SG seat. its alot lower then the EG seat but thicker then SG.

Success is a sweet thing. I was happy mine went together without a hitch, ABS line and all. Post us up a Picture.

OK, these show my re-route of clutch cable. Visor bag covers everything as you can see in pics above. After drilling I used a file and angle filed to lessen arch of cable. Bought a rubber grommet at Home Depot to finish it off. A lot like the Harley one in the lower original hole but rubber isn't as bulky looking. When I paint inner fairing I'll have that original whole covered up.

Yes, I know I wasted a bunch of money buying cromite braided cable that nobody will ever see. Oh, well, by the time I paid shipping cost savings woulda been minimal and I'd have had to wait. Happy I figured out how to hide it.

Question: I have 12" Yaffe Bagger Monkey Bars. I like them. Can they be adjusted back 1"? I had them installed and the installer was telling me they should not be adjust back an inch.

I don't know exactly where they are now, so it is hard to say if they can be adjusted back an inch. My guess would be yes though. You can pull back until at full turn the bars interfere with tank I'd guess. Or until they don't look right. I've seen BIG differences in pull back on these bars.

I guess another issue might be cables. Depending on length/routing of cables pulling back may make them too short?

I noticed in this thread there are a few who mentioned that they were trying to find a size that is not standard with all of the other manufacturers. Just thought I would share this link http://www.brcustomcycles.com/Bagger_Bars_FRB6.php You can choose the height that fits you best, and also many different styles from mild to wild. However an overstuffed wallet bursting with greenbacks is a must.
