some have stayed with stock cables but I went with +3 clutch. the stock brake cable was fine. i wanted the cables close to the bars, and the stock brake and +3 clutch does that.

10 PYO Monkeys. Went with +2 clutch. All other wiring/cables are stock. All wiring ran internal. Brake and clutch are of course external. I actually ran my clutch through the fairing differently, making it hidden. Here is the thread w/pics if you are curious...

I didn't have to change anything at the start but when everything was back on the bike I found that if I turned the bars too far to the it would pull on the clutch cable to the point that it would engage the clutch. So I did have to swap out the clutch cable with one that was about 6 inches longer. As far as the other wires, no I just moved them about in the fairing and they have worked just fine for a couple of years now.

I went with Cycle Smith 13" apes and love em. I was scared they were going to be to tall and catch lots of wind but they are very comfortable for me and the fairing knocks off all the wind off my hands. I tried multiple bars out before I picked these to get my hands turned at the right angle, this is just as important if not more so than the height.

I've read every thread on this subject and all the post in this thread. I would like to get the 10" bars. My concern is the reach. I'm 5'10" and don't want to reach further out to bars than what the stocks are. I just want more height. Am I understanding correctly that I can pull these back toward me away from fairing to get the most comfortable position? Close to stock pull back?

I'm 5'9" and have my bars as far forward as they can go without touching my tweeter pods. Yes, you can pull them back really as far as you could possibly want. A lot of people say to go higher than you think you want but my 10s are perfect. I'm glad I chose them and not the 12s.
