I could probably have gone with the 12" and been just as happy as I am with the 10"

I don't regret getting the 10's at all....just admitting that the 12" would probably be just as good.

Well today the wife and I went to a bike show. There was two SG's parked within 4 bikes of each other both had Monkey bagger's one with 12's the other had 10's. IMHO the bike with the 10's from a distance of 12ft or so they ALMOST looked stock, it would have been very easy to walk right by and not even notice them. Know the 12's kinda jump out at you as if to say look at me!! So if you are going for the wow factor 12's are the way to go.

Do you know if a Road King and a Dragon Fly Fairing would sit about the exact same with the 12" bars ? I don't know if I need a 14 or a 12.

Still can't decide. I've been chewing on this now for at least two years. Since the beginning I've been 90% sure I want 10" PYO Monkey Baggers. I really think it looks terrible to have your bars up over the batwing. It is a bonus that I don't have to change out any wires or cables. They will no doubt feel better and look better than stock.

On the other hand, being a tad over 6 foot, I'm sure that the 12's would feel best. Plus there are so many guys with 10's wishing they did 12. Even more guys that were on the fence, got 12's, and were glad they did.

Maybe if they would make me 11's...

My 10's are on the way (PYO called me and said they were ready to ship). Tracking # has Monday delivery date, good thing too because we leave for Pheonix Wed. morning. I'll start on the after I get back. I went with the 10's: 1) don't have to change out the ABS line, 2) want to keep hands at fairing level, and 3) I sat on a bike with 10's and they were really comfortable. I put 12" apes on my last two Harleys (we take our vacations on out bikes) but on the new bike ('11 Ultra Limited) I think 10's are the way to go (but to each his own).

I bought 10's after this debate and glad I did. Im right at 6' tall and I think 12's would make it uncomfortable on longer rides. Not to mention my hands would be above the fairing which is stupid IMO. Actually to tell you the truth if I had new they would make me some 8" or 9" I would have bought them in a second to make sure my hands were below the fairing. With my 10's Im just starting to catch some wind. Im starting to slowly convert to function over fashion.

I'm an average 6ft Fat Bagger and ride w/ 12" Apes on my RKC and Luv'em. Don't know if other bars have this, but my mount flexes front-to-back (rigid for turns), dampening the vibe. with 12's my hands are shoulder height and gives a secure feel during hard stops.

I ride year round and it's nice with the 10's because the fairing deflects most of the wind from my hands, and are still high enough so I don't get shoulder pains from reaching and leaning forward. I think a lot of it has to do with where you set the bars (close to the inner fairing or rearward toward the rider). I installed the bars to help with my bad back and the stock bars had me leaning forward to much, with the 10's pulled back a little I sit straight up and with the backrest on I can ride all day everyday and not get shoulder or back pains. I've had plenty of taller folks sit on my bike and most say it feels perfect, I think 12's or bigger would be more for cosmetic for me. The 10's are perfect, but I'm only 5'8"!
