They're blowing smoke up your a__! Metal Flake in paint isn't metal it's p[lastic shavings that look like metal.. Don't believe me ask a painter..

I also have the Harley hidden antenna and it works good for me NYC metro area. Although I rarely listen to the radio.

I'm about to get my CVO rear fender and struts back from the painter. I've been trying to decide whether to move my shorty antenna up near the strut cover where I've seen it on some CVOs, or go with the hidden deal. You guys aren't really helping to clear up this decision... C'mon folks, work it. What is the answer?

The answer is: get the hidden antenna, does not get in the way or mess up the look of the bike.

I also am waiting on a CVO fender and bags to come in and didn't care to much for looks of the antenna being so close to the passenger back rest so I'm planning on the hidden one too.

Harleypingman i could have it done wrong i am not against that at all my wife says i do everything wrong
Will she admit that marrying her was also a bad idea?

I run two of these taped to either side of the inside of the fairing. I started with one and reception was not very good. Someone convinced me that two would be better. Like most guys I figured yeah, two always seemed like a good idea, so I have two coming together to a pigtail adapter. My reception is pretty respectable. A/M, F/M and even a weather channel, not as many stations as I get in my truck but still, not bad.

I mounted a Metra44-ua200 powered antenna in the fairing. Works good enough for me. About the same as the car?
