Service guys are great, they sit down and talk to you and help figure out what you need. They have two master techs there.
Family owned, 5 dealerships in all. I highly recommend them.
Very friendly management and sales reps. Parts guys are pretty knowledgeable, and most of them are wrenches too. The service department is friendly and seem to be competent.
Everyone I have interacted with seemed happy to answer any questions fully without seeming they had somewhere to be.
Bottom line they are all the same, sooner or later they are all the same

It is very true that all of these dealerships are supposed to be money making enterprises...that's what they do to make a living. If they didn't make money, there wouldn't be a reason to be there unless the owner was rich and just looking for something to spend money on.
I don't want my dealer to lose money on a deal with me. I also don't want them to rip me off. Fair is fair. I expect them to be as fair with me as I would be with them. I make money for the job I do, they should be able to make money at the job they do, too.
I bought a 2014 Limited about a month after they started arriving at dealerships. I went in and saw this one while it was still in the back being prepped, before it was even on the floor, and I decided that I just had to have it. I kept going back looking at it, dragging it out for a couple of weeks, even after it was on the sales floor.
The dealership isn't a megadealer, they only had a limited number of new bikes coming in that early, and the sales manger wanted to keep this one on the floor for a while, until they knew they had at least one more coming.
But the salesman and the sales manager knew me well enough that they knew I REALLY wanted THAT bike, so the sales manager said "Ok, lets put him on it."
I know, I know...that's what dealers do, they sell bikes, so it was in his best interest to sell me the bike, right? Well, read on, neighbor.
So they are gonna sell me the bike I want, that they were hoping to hang onto for a couple more weeks at least. Great for me, right? Well, no...because no matter how we did the numbers, we could get close but I just couldn't quite manage the payments. (Yeah, I'm not rich, this was a BIG purchase for me.) So, I walk away, head down, feeling low. My salesman is watching me go, he knows I'm very disappointed, but he's done about everything you could ask him to do and I can't make it work out. And yeah, I know this guy...he isn't a cheat or a liar, and he was very upfront with me about their profit and everything. Shocking, I know.
So, I get home and I'm moping around and just before closing time I get this phone call. Its the sales manager. He says "Man, you slipped away before I could catch you. (This happened on a day the dealer was having a big event.) Kevin (the salesman) came in to tell me that you couldn't quite get this deal done but that you REALLY wanted this bike, so we went in and talked to Shelly (the general manager) and when she found out who the deal was for she asked us what we had to do to put you on that bike, and we told her. She said 'Make it happen', so we did. If you want this bike, we got the deal worked out so you can afford it, just come by when you are ready and we will have it ready for you. If you want to hold off, let us know when you're ready and we will try to get you one in here."
And no, this wasn't a typical "let the customer leave then bait him back in" trick. These guys wanted me to have the bike. They didn't just want to SELL me a bike, they wanted me to be able to have the bike I wanted. I guess you had to be there.
Now, understand...they didn't play any games, they didn't do "juggle the numbers". They didn't pressure me. They got me the term I wanted, the payment I needed and made it happen.
Did they make money? Yes. Did they make a killing? No. Did they have a happy customer? Yes. And did they get to feel good about it? Yes.
So, yes, in a lot of ways, they are the same. But in a lot of ways, no they are not.
Is Harley Davidson of Athens/Cycle World of Athens a perfect dealer? No, but who is perfect? Are they good people that try to treat you right? Yes, they are.
And no, this isn't the only bike I've bought from them, and I've done a lot of business with them. Am I biased? Maybe so. But what I wrote here was completely true. You be the judge.
