Theres a lot of things victory did right IMHO, ergonomicly, I loved it. Fit me like a glove. Handled like a dream, rock solid. Can change the oil without making a mess, and a final belt can be replaced without tearing the primary drive apart. Power is ok, more biased towards mid and upper range than the harley (more passing power on the highway) and IMHO, not as powerful as Vic's. Numbers want you to believe, but still good.

But that damn buzzing vibration sucks. It made me really appreciate Harley's rubber mounted motor, floorboards, and the way the tourpak backrest is mounted to the thing (floating).

I loved the vision from a functional standpoint (It still buzzed, but not as bad) but that thing is just way too out there as far as looks. And the saddlebags are a joke as far as space.
Presently 13,600 mi.,9,300 mi. since May 1st. on an '11 Vision. I also notice a little buzzing noise in higher rpm but disappears @ cruising speeds. Not quite as much storage as my Limited but very adaquate.2 weeks last. mo. out to Ga,SC,Fla. and x-country to So. Cal packing a tent sleeping bag etc.,everything I'd pack on the Ultra. You mentioned the ergomomics, maint.,handling, top end power.I'd throw in suspension, lighting and $5500 < than the Limited.Another big + with the Vision are heat issues or lack thereof in 100+ deg. heat.No pinging or power loss whatsover all with,ac,exhaust,stage1 remap @ 90 +hp/105 ft. lbs. It does get a little sweaty but no 2nd deg. burns behind the fairing, hence the lower air deflectors. No need for heat management, the 106 runs surprisingly cool.As a side note I just got back from a weekend trip up to Yellowstone. @ the top of South Pass 8600' by my GPS I opened it up a little on a straightaway 110 mph no problem. Resale on a Harley isn't what it used to be:

Traded an '07 RKC I owned 18 mos. 21k mi.$18.6K + acc. $11.5K on trade.
Traded an '08 EGC I owned 24 mos. 26k mi $20.4K + acc. $13.5K on trade
Traded a '10 FLHTK I owned for 16 mos. 26k mi. $25.5k + acc. $20.08K on trade

Dealer networks, they're there when I need them $425 out of pocket for 2 services done on the road in 13,600 mi.The 2 techs. that have touched the bike were as savy as any I've dealt with,Harley incl.

Accessories, granted not a whole lot out there but other than the exhaust,ac,remap, tour pack rack, lower air deflectors and back rest there's not much else needed.

LoL, as far as the BOZO inuendos, with all the pluses this bike offers I can live with a little humiliation. No one's asked me to park on the other side of the street yet.

If it isn't a stupid question - as a non-Harley rider, why are you on this board? As far as parking - I wouldn't park next to that. It's one of the ugliest bikes I've ever seen.

I agree resale isn't what it used to be. I sold my '92 Fatboy for more than I paid for it new. You must have one heck of a pension or what have you to lose ~ $20k in trades over the last 5 years. What are you going to buy next?

After doing a stage one ( $$$ ) it almost has the power of a stock Victory. Help me out here, I know this is not the best place to ask this, but, give me some REAL good reasons not to do it.
Seems to work for the Victoria British Columbia motor cops.....just saying

Well friend, just trying to give the OP an educated, unbiased point of view. Isn't that what forums are for?.Feel free to park where ever you want.220k great miles on Harleys only 13.6 k on a Victory so certainly no authority. Just calling 'em as I see 'em.

Pension,I wish not for another 10 mos. The majority of the 15k mi or so I ride in a 6 mo. riding season here in Wyoming are done in 3 weeks vacation.
Just looking for the perfect bike for me,haven't found it yet but getting closer.$20K for 73,000 enjoyable miles isn't a big trade off imo.

Seriously - "Made in the USA" be damned if I have to ride that.

The Flying Vagina doesn't have any pluses over a BMW K1600 GTL.

I am getting tired of hearing about you victory crossovers on here. Just do it and join their forum. If on the other hand you want to put your Road King to the test (as long as you have the *****) you are 204 miles from me. I can show you some rides that will make you really appreciate your Road King. Just don't be afraid of scraping floorboards.

Sorry MC but this is a typical 99% response. I think the OP is on the wrong path to consider trading a 12 RC for a Victory but I applaud his ability to do so.

There's nothing quite like getting onto a forum and bragging about the competition to get yourself in hot water. If I were you I'd suggest keeping a lower profile . . .

I happen to own a Mini Cooper S and a Hyundai Accent. Both good small cars but the Accent doesn't hold a torch to my Cooper when it comes to performance. I happened to mention that on the Hyundai forum - after a young chap decided he'd brag about hardly being able to wait to take a Mini Cooper in a bend. Damn - did I hear about it - even if I was right.

The same company that owns this forum runs the Victory Forum. Might I suggest you find your way over there and leave us to enjoy our clearly superior motorcycles?
