I've rode a couple Cross Countries and was surprised of how nice of ride they are. It seems to do everything as good or better than my SG. My only complaint is the engine got really hot. When I pointed that out to the rep, he said there is a heater switch on the bike that was probably on. That seemed a bit odd to me. Doesn't matter, I not considering a Victory for the reasons Mark pointed out, and because really like my SG.

HEY! Kohler has better quality and more options than American Standard, plus they are not only made in the USA, but also in Wisconsin! So, you see, up here we get the best bikes and the best toilets! But, no matter how you combine the two, they don't look like a toilet seat on wheels (AKA Victory).

After doing a stage one ( $$$ ) it almost has the power of a stock Victory. Help me out here, I know this is not the best place to ask this, but, give me some REAL good reasons not to do it.
I test rode a Victory Cross Country before buying my 2012 Street Glide. I knew I wasn't going to buy the CC simply because of styling. I didn't like the funky angles and the rear fender that seemingly hangs out 3' from the rear tire. I really didn't like the crash bars either. Anyway I test rode it thinking the ride might change my mind; it didn't. For me it lacked feel and balance. It felt like what I would imagine a Goldwing to be, and I wanted something with a little more cruiser in it.

Are you wanting to switch for the fairing? Power? Ride quality? Or just because?

I like my Harley and am not going anywhere. But I have to say I am impressed with what Victory has done in a short time. A little competitive pressure on HD is a good thing. For example, I wonder if the 103 engines are the result of Victory's 106...

I'm biased toward HD for many reasons. I love the ride and looks, countless parts and accessories, I'm not crazy about most dealers, but they are there if I do need something. I have a few friends with Vics, they're not perfect, they have problems also, the only way I would even consider one is if my wife gave up riding, the back seat of the vision is roomy, but I would still have a Harley for the times I ride solo.

More likely the Kawasaki Vulans. There's been a steady upward increase in dispacement for many years. I don't think this is a game that Harley can win however - not with air cooled bikes.

Victory Bikes do absolutely nothing for me! If they pressure Harley Davidson to produce a better bike I am good with that!
