I'm not going to bash any manufacturer, though I have been to the "other side" and came back. I had an awesome sport-tourer, impressed with it in every way. But I didn't love it, and wasn't sad when I sold it and didn't wonder if I made the right decision yada yada. I just bought a '12 Road King FLHR, Big Blue Pearl. I realized I made the right decision when I caught myself polishing the speedo with my t-shirt (Harley of course). I don't remember doing that to the sport-tourer, in fact I know I didn't.
Keep the RK. But if you don't love it, your decision is already made.
I can kinda see where you're coming from, but look at it from this angle ...
At least the OP is out there spending cash and thereby supporting our weak economy, helping some less fortunate American worker get a pay check to support this family, buy groceries, etc, etc on down the line.
I'd rather have guys like the OP out there spending cash right now than just sitting on a pile of it like a lot of cash-rich corporations and individuals are doing. Their wait-and-see attitude ain't helping nobody.
I hope the OP buys a new bike every other month, and God love him if he does.
Well here's some good news for anyone else thinking about jumping ship - there's a "$1K discount on ANY and ALL Victories simply by taking a test ride. Those who got 18% off typically leveraged the $1K demo ride coupon paired with an additional $1K off for being military paired with other locally available promotions and or negotiations.". Heck - looks like you can pretty much get a Victory for free after all the discounts the dealers have to throw at you to get you to buy one . . .
The more I ride my 2012 road glide ultra wobbler and have to deal with harley the more I wish I had got the Victory Vision Tour.
Wow! Some people must have **** birds for dealers! My dealer, Dudley Perkins, treats me and everyone I know of fair and square. My 2012 Road Glide is perfect, no problems, no concerns. If you or anyone else have a problem with your HD, pursue your rights and get things taken care of. Here in CA we have a lemon law; it worked for my riding buddy. They took back his CVO Convertible, now he's riding his CVO Street Glide and very happy at that.
Well... My FLHT is my first Harley after owning 12+ metrics. Absolutely love it and won't ever give it up. That said, in the 2.5 yrs I've owned it I've been a forum member and try to keep up on things. H-D's have had their share of "issues". TSB for tires, fuel tank recall, compensator failures, voltage reg failures, etc. Alot of small issues for a pretty seasoned bike. Victorys ugly? Certainly a personal perspective but they don't have a 20+ year batwing design to fall back on. Heck, give the Vic a shot. New, modern, american and different. Maybe you'll like it, maybe you won't....
