I have a friend who bought the Cory Ness sig back in 06. He spent a buttload of money on it and has had nothing but problems since he bought it. Personally I never cared for the looks of any of the bikes in the Victory line, but that's just me. But after sitting on the side of the road multiple times with him waiting for a truck to come get his bike or taking the 2 1/2 hour ride with him to the nearest Victory dealer so he could get something fixed told me I never would get a Victory.

Why is it that you come here for therapy? Why don't you get on the Victory forum and ask those three guys what they think?

Harleys are Harleys and thats it! When the newness wears off the victory youll be back,so save yourself the trouble and the money, do something diffrent to your RK and recindle the fire! ever thought of puttin on a fairing on the bike or how about a smokin *** paint job or some chrome rims! I think the newness of the victory will be short lived. just my opinion!Your driving every mans dream and an american icon why switch now! Hell victorys a american made product but they still look foreign in my opinion!Bury the victory and resurect the dream dude

First thing...I am not a guy that bleeds HD orange and black... You need to make up your own mind and ride what you want. It is your money and you can spend it as you want on what you want. Nobody should sling mud at you cause you want something different. But this is a rough forum and you gonna have some slinging going on... The Die Hards are gonna roast you. (and probably me for writing this, oh well)

My thoughts and opinions.

Victory is American made, I suspect with a lot of forgien parts just like the HD...that is a plus. I am not sure I am convinced that a snow mobile company can really build a bike. They must be doing something right, cause they are still in business.
The styling of the Victory touring bikes, I have not got over yet, maybe they grow on you if you look at them everyday for year or two. I never looked at one for more than a minute up close cause I just could not get past the space ship look.

From the review, seems it has the same quirks my Limited has...clunky shifting, whiny gear noises...plus mine has some rattling in the engine and valve train noise that I hate. I have found if I wear ear plugs, I like the Limted a lot better if I cannot hear all that. On my Limited, the handling is great, power is pretty good. I would like the extra power without having to spend big bucks and possibly decrease the reliablity of the bike.

I would (ME) be concerned about dealer network and service availiblity if you plan on riding it to really tour the country. You will be ok if you never leave town or your area.
I ride a pretty good bit and put 18-24K miles on a bike a year. I bought a Harley for the Dealer service network.
I rode metrics for years and it is hell trying to get something as simple as a tire changed on a metric 400 miles away from home. The economy has closed a lot of the "Other" brand dealerships, making it even harder to find service on the road.
I would also be concerned about parts availbility...aftermarket and OEM. There is plenty of stuff for the HD brand if you need it.

If you feel you need to change brands to get something you like better. More power to you. Good luck with your desicion and enjoy the road on what ever you ride.

I don't like the look, but at least the CC is toned down enough to be at least palatable. There was a demo team at the Dragon last fall, and one of the guys did some impressive stuff on the bike, but I knew enough to tell myself that didn't mean I could do it!

To my eye, no touring bike is as good looking as a Road King, none. I didn't like the look of the Road Glide either, but obviously I got over that!
If I am going to ride something other than a Harley, it has to be very different than a Harley, sorry to me a Vic is a Harley clone or wanna be...

I very nearly bought a new BMW K1600GT, but had every intention of keeping my Road King too, but after doing due dilligence learning there are few dealers if the thing breaks, and there are a lot of owners waiting weeks (and longer) for some parts on them, that fixed that itch!

Every touring bike I know of except HD has a fixed fairing, that was working on my head. The first ride I ever had on a Road Glide was on the one in my garage right after I bought it. It does make a difference, I am totally happy wishing for nothing different. Well, I think I need to change up a few things on it to give it more juice, but I really don't have to.

There's a new Victory dealer a few miles from me. I stopped in one day just to check it out. The salesman was all over me. He really wanted my RK. He made me a fantastic offer on a Cross Country that looks similar to my King. I rode the bike around the block. When I brought it back, I looked it over good. I didn't like the way the foot pegs are mounted. The overall fit and finish is no where near my bike. I thanked the guy and rode off. I'm glad I did check them out. Now when I get pissed at Harley, I have something to straighten my thinking.

I would only buy one if my name was George, and I was married to Jane. Son Elroy. Daughter Jane. Dog Astro.

When you read that review, bike sounds clunky, too.
