Finally I replaced the TSSM with a TSM and no more red key (security) light. Could not stand that POS light (security) waiting to strand me in the middle of nowhere. Dealer had to do it, billed me 30 minutes. Worth every cent.
i had this happen on my 12 CVO RG, start up the bike, red key come on red key go off, then about 10 seconds later, red key back on and stayed on. i always do the walk around and check all the bulbs lights and horn before jumping on the bike so i was puzzled as to why the lite was on. .turned out i had a front turn signal bulb that was working sometimes and not others, only figured it out when i went to make a left turn and the left blinker flashed more rapidly than the right blinker. Pulled the bulb, replaced it with new bulb and the red key light went out.
I used to get the same red key light all the time. Then I put the radio shack siren on the bike and have not seen the error code or light since. It probably means the bike does not detect a siren.
Well, let me add to that. I was on my way in, the light on the speedo went out and the speedo is stuck at 70mph and the red key light is blinking. Also, the tach needle moves everytime the red key light blinks. Anyone have any idea?
When the red key light stays on it means that there's a trouble or diagnostic code that's been triggered. I have a 2005 Ultra and someone a long tima ago posted this PDF on this forum that I found very helpful. I'm not sure all the codes are valid for any of the newer bikes, it says through 2008.
