My first bike was a new 08 Night train. Those drag bars were rough on my lower back-14" apes solved that problem.

My current ride 07 Streetglide. the stock bars sucked to me. Went with 16" cyclesmiths. Love the comfort of the ride.

Riding a bike with apes is like driving a cadillac.

I dont understand those who complain about getting wind on a fairing bike, last time I checked you are riding a motorcycle...

Many of us are just too polite to say so....

(But the bat wing fairing is shaped so that the riders hands are behind the fairing. Putting them above the fairing and breaking up that design looks odd to me, but lots of people seem to like them anyway.)

Agree with some and disagree with others. On a RG I think they look bad because they are so far away from the fairing and it looks like you just slapped them on to see how it would look. They don't go with the flow of the bike. On a SG I think they look much better, almost like they should come stock with them. Not too tall though. If you are over 6ft. I think you find the stock bars put your hands way too close to your knees and you look like "a dog humpin' a jug". Just my 2 cents.

I don't really care how the next guy decides to screw up his bike. His money, his baby... do what you want. But you'll never see apes on my RK. At least not while it's still mine.

My personal opinion is that they are best suited for bikes of a specific style. It's like wearing suit pants and a t-shirt; they just don't go together. But some people take great delight at mixing elements of two very different styles. More power to them!

I also think low-profile tires and massive chrome rims look stupid on 4x4 vehicles. So if any of you have done that, just forget what I said & I'll pretend that I like it.
