Where can I find a replacement brake light relay for an '07 Road King? My brake light is staying on, and someone told me that might be the problem. I checked local parts stores with no luck. The nearest H-D shop is 60 miles away.
Have you done anything to the front brake lever? Very common to damage the button on the end of the switch when re-installing the front brake lever. Check the switches first, unplug a wire on the rear switch, push the front brake lever hard against the stop and see if the light goes out. Might save the hunt for a relay, but start the hunt for a new switch.
I would think if the relay was bad the brake light WOULDN'T come on.. they usually fail open..not closed..
I would look at the switch like btsom commented...
as above- but if it is the relay, they are a common automotive type used for all kinds of tasks from starter relay to lighting relay-
take the old one with you and the parts store can match it up.
( the 2007, you'd have to have a look- I know that the 2009 models do have a relay...and my 1995 didn't- I don't have a wiring diagram for the 2007 models)
pepboys, autozone...any of them.
but check your switches.
as above, the most common " Idon't need the manual" mistake is to break the front brake switch.
- the second is draining the tranny instead of the oil.

Before you go any further, do a few simple checks yourself. Take the bulb out and check it! I have had them blow an element and short the other element so both elements light up. If you have a spare bulb, try that.
Do later bikes have a brake light switch relay? My older bikes don't.
Thanks for the quick responses. I have not messed with the front brake lever so I pulled the wires from the rear brake switch and the light went off. I had already checked my local parts stores for the brake relay and no one carried them. After the light went off, I figured it was the rear brake switch as most of you suggested. I replaced that switch with one from the H-D dealer and guess what.... the brake light works perfectly.
