Ok so I tried to research the best I can, but.... didnt find anything other than some 06 sensitivity information.
I have an 07 Road King Classic and I'm wanting to install the smart siren II unit with pager, but plan on taking my bike on a trailer behind a uhaul to help a buddy move some of his stuff. I know the one time I had to tow my scoot on a flatbed (with a flat tire), the alarm kept activating the lights. How do you over-ride the 'motion' portion if you are trailering the scoot? I'm not sure if there is an over-ride. I don't want to install the siren and have the alarm / siren continue to sound while trailering the bike.
Any help you can give, would be most apprecaited!!
Speaking for my 06 the Owners Manual contains instructions for "Transport Mode" in the H-D Factory Security System section. I know your system self arms as you move away from the bike but I hope H-D still allows for the Transport Mode.
Thanks. I did find the info on Transport mode in the owners manual. I guess if I had looked in the first place, I would have known...
Anyway for those who are interested......
TRANSPORT MODE:
To arm:
Turn IGN key to ON and set OFF/RUN switch to OFF
Turn IGN key to ACC
Press both turn switches. Turn signals will flash once
Turn IGN to OFF. The system responds with 3 turn signal flashes.
To disarm transport mode:
With FOB present, turn IGN to ON
Set OFF/RUN switch to RUN to exit transport mode.
Kind of hard for some one to steal whenit's moving on a trailer. When you stpo , then set the Alarm. When you continue trip unset the Alarm.
Thats what I did with my 02 softail but on the newer bikes the alarm is automatic. whenever you turn off the bike it arms and doesnt disarm till you start it up again.
Keep the fob near the bike when trailering. Remove the fob when you stop and the security system will rearm itself. The bike does not have to be sitting on the jiffy stand for the security system to work properly.
