2014 Infotainment issues Part 2.
Listening via BT mp3's from my phone, when there is TA the BT connection is completely lost (many times but not always).
When TA is switched off, there is no problem.
I have many saved locations, the BoomBox can import them as *.gpx files.
but i can not find any information about input file properties in the 2014 Boom! Box Owner's Manual or elsewhere.
I use Garmin Mapsoure for maps
(Navteq with Lifetime update and OpenSreetMaps),
tracks and waypoints(Saved locations)
on Garmin devices (Nuvi and Forerunner)
On my Android phone i use OsmAnd with OpenSreetMaps.
All my adresses are synchronized from my Nuvi to Mapsource , converted with GPSBabel and copied to to my phone.
I am looking for a way to do the same with the BoomBox.
(GPSBabel is a tool and converts waypoints, tracks, and routes between popular GPS receivers and mapping programs. It also has powerful manipulation tools for such data.)
Hope this helps and my language abuse is not too bad.

Greetings from the Netherlands.
First of all I suspect the failure to import the "translated" GPX files is a limitation of the Boombox software, not a flaw. Lets say for now it is a less developed or more rudimentary navigation software, unlike Garmin and Android. Unfortunately the only program export from Harley so far is the ride builder- supported.
I think it is an AWESOME goal to get the unit to import from other mapping apps, but we need to deal with the malfunctions first.
The TA advisory cutting off BT should be considered a malfunction. Users should NOT expect to have to reconnect to BT just because a voice announcement popped up. I will list this one.
On the address book issue, can you verify it saves addresses when you input them via keyboard manually ?
I am rather shocked and disappointed to learn that the boombox won't support ANY BT headsets. This is a glaring oversight similar to the 9 waypoint limit.
My understanding is you can pair the Boombox with your phone but you can only get headset audio via Harley Davidson compatible 7 pin wired headphones.
The
That file i exported and try to imitate, unsuccesful so far.
I will be back here if i have news

No EON (RDS Radio Data System and Enhanced Other Networks)
No RDS TMC.........can't believe it.
No displayed speedlimit of the road you are driving.
Well in fact missing all things that makes a usable navigation device.
What is the value for money of the BoomBox?
My Garmin have to be back on my bike, and surely, I did NOT expect that.
Sometimes integration makes no sense. The included CB from the past is still the way to go for the consumer.

I have experienced all the same issues you have described. I got my bike the end if August, first week they were introduced. I do a lot of long distance touring, create many custom routes to download to my GPS. I have always used GARMIN Zumo 660 along with Basecamp, always worked very well. With the Infotainment system, can only use Harley Route Planner to create the routes. The bike will import the route successfully, however, it will not follow the custom route. I have tried numerous variables with no success. I called Harley, talked with a Ride Planner person, she had me send her some of my GPX files, she later contacted me, said there were no problems with my files or with Ride Planner, the issue is with the bike GPS. There is no tech support at the Dealer, the Motor Company, or Harmon Kardon. Same as you, I get absolutely no response from anyone.
Occasionally the GPS screen will go completely black, no audio, etc. the radio, cb, etc continues to work ok. I have tried to turn off the radio, then back on, while riding, still a black GPS screen. If I stop and turn off the ignition for a few minutes, then back on, the screen resets and will work for awhile.....
I thought about installing a GARMIN mount and using my Zumo. However, the Bluetooth connection on the bike will only work with a phone. Bluetooth will not permit audio from the GARMIN...thru the bike speakers or thru a separate Bluetooth headset....I have not found a solution.
I am as aggravated about the system as you are!!!!!!!!
However, that's a far from ideal solution, as it means if you are following a Garmin route, it's the only audio you can listen to music from.
The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
Anybody tried it ?
I am trying to find an intercom solution for the Street Glide Special which has no intercom wiring. The only harness available is rider only. Go figure .....
So .. they want me to upgrade to an Ultra to get rider to passenger communications ?
