But, if paired to GPS and phone at the same time it might work for hearing phone or audio and GPS instructions. ( ? )

I don't want to be the guinea pig on this.
Please post results of testing with the Boom Audio.
No, and I imagine it would not work, because the HD system is stupid that way.

This was in response to DiabloV's needing rider-to-passenger-coms.

My point being, you do NOT need to do anything with the HD Infotainment system to get that. If you want to talk to your passenger, why in the world do you need to go through the bike's stereo/gps? No need for it.

Smile More Oohs and Aahs!

Hi All,

My Infotainment system seems to somewhat work as specified.
My Droid Max phone pairs up perfectly with the system. It downloads the phonebook, voice commands are recognized as specified, reads text messages back to me. Dials by voice. Only problem is when an incoming call is detected, it shows up on the display, but I don't hear a ringtone.

The AVC works just fine, as volume increases with speed.

Destination input by voice and thumb controls work exceptionally well.

I can use Basecamp to download POIs and routes. You can use up to 9 POIs in a route, and up to 18 routes, so there is plenty of space to plan a trip. I export the files to my iPod, which the system reads and imports when I connect it and Import the files.

I have NOT figured out how to delete POIs. The system does store much more than 9. However, in a recent scavenger hunt rally, The BigTexRally, I just loaded up my waypoints (using BaseCamp). I entered the next waypoint Destination, at the completion of a route. The system routed almost perfectly.

I plan to try pairing my Zumo 665 with the phone BT on the Boom! Box, then pair my phone to the Zumo. Has anyone tried this?

Overall, I am happy with what I got. I just plan to add a Zumo 665 to the handlebars so I can get more information than the bike provides.

As far as hacking the system, the files DO NOT appear to be Garmin.

My bitches would include - sometimes I lose control of the Thumb Switches. Cannot program route, or control the GPS, except by voice commands. If I turn the system off for a couple of minutes and let the system reboot, it seems to work fine. Anyone else experiencing this?

However, that's a far from ideal solution, as it means if you are following a Garmin route, it's the only audio you can listen to music from.
Thanks for your info...I will try again, apparently I did something wrong the times I have tried. After you did a successful pairing, how did you do the power source for the GARMIN?

Anybody tried it ?
I am trying to find an intercom solution for the Street Glide Special which has no intercom wiring. The only harness available is rider only. Go figure .....
So .. they want me to upgrade to an Ultra to get rider to passenger communications ?
I have an Interphone F5 Bluetooth headset, I have tried to pair it with the bike with no success. The Interphone recognizes the bike, the bike will not recognize the Interphone. If anyone has an idea of how to, I appreciate any suggestions.

Ignore the message that says it's failed. It still connects. Ignore any message about synching too.

Was just trying it, so didn't look at a power source. The biggest challenge will be how to mount the Garmin without obsuring other things....

@legalley: What are you using to issue voice commands, the wired HD headset or other?

Default What I use

I am using the corded headset supplied by Harley-Davidson. My friends say they cannot tell that I am on the bike when talking to them on the phone. If I choose BT it will certainly be the Sena BT.

Hey Rex! Wore your last bike out on the IBR and had to buy a '14? <LOL>

Do me a favor and read what I ran into while researching the deck and tell me how you will be adapting it to serious LD riding: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...-pathetic.html

And welcome to the forum, btw!
