Like most on here I'm a nomad like doing my own thing.Being a member in numerous biking groups there's always a few times a year when riding in large groups, and it easy to eye the guys to stay away from.Either way upfront and riding in the rear. Ride Often Ride Safe.

I prefer riding alone, but most of the time I ride with friends. Make the alone rides even better.

Alone or with the wife on the back. But, it is fun to ride with others every now and again. But mainly I like riding alone and just going wherever the ride takes me. Clears my head and I forget about work and whatever troubles me.

I usually ride with my buddy. We worked together for 20+ years and know each other. We both have Ultras so we can communicate using the CB.

I'm comfortable with riding with 4 or 5 other riders I have rode with before.

I have ridden in large groups in the past. When I do I always put myself at the rear. Some people don't pay attention well in large groups.

For short rides/day rides I prefer to ride with friends because of the camaraderie of the group.

On long multi day trips I prefer to ride alone with my wife aboard because we stop/start when and where we want. We make our own schedule and don't have to consider what anybody else wants to do. There's less confusion and arguments/misunderstandings this way.

I ride mostly by myself because I work odd hours when everyone else is off. When I do go on a ride with friends 99% of the time I'm leading so I am still mostly in control of the ride. Down side to me with riding in a group is I like to ride. Get tired of the complainers that say I ride to far.

So far (still a "newbie") all but one ride has been alone. For now I prefer it that way. I'm still getting comfortable with the bike and my ability. Don't want to have to worry about other riders, more because I'm still not completely comfortable than worrying about what they are doing. Did do a Patriot Guard ride last week, and felt pretty good in the group. Plan to do more of those. Got a couple buddies that ride and we've tried to get together for a ride but weather and work schedules haven't matched up. I don't foresee any group rides other than with a couple friends and with the Patriot Guard, at least not in the near future.

I don't care for the large group rides like Rolling Thunder. I've seen too many numb nuts acting like idiots in these events. Not big on poker runs either. I have 3 buddies that I've ridden with for over 12 years. We know each others riding style, little idiosyncrasies, etc. and we all have the same riding style. We've ridden together from Myrtle Beach to Montreal and Nova Scotia.

Maybe if I lived somewhere where there was more open country/lonely back roads I'd be more apt to go riding alone but I enjoy sharing the ride experience(s) with a couple of buddies.

We're fortunate that all of our wives enjoy riding occasionally but have no desire to be on the back seat every time we go out. I love my wife and I enjoy it when she goes out with me but I really prefer to ride solo. I don't have to worry about whether she's comfortable, hungry, tired, needs to pee, wants to turn around, etc. I'm very lucky in that she is a real trooper and will only complain when she's at the end of her tolerance level.

I mostly either ride alone or with a close group of friends. Usually no more than 5 or 6 bikes. We all know each other and our riding styles. We have a couple that like hot rodding their bikes so we just let them take off and meet up with them at the next stop. I really cant stand large group rides.
