Have anyone tried "VHT Nite Shades" black tail light blackout paint on their lens on there bikes.
I am thinking of blackout lens', but have seen this done on some vehicles with great results. lot less $$$ too.
Yep I know. I have a spare red rear fender tip lens I may try it on first.
But on the ones I've seen it looks better than smoke because the red still shows through with a bit of red contrast.

Do some Googling on the 'how to'.
800-1000 grit sandpaper, adhesion promoter and buffing are all necessary to get it to look proper.
Also...even after doing all that...it's still going to fade in the sun.
I did it on a car that I murdered-out. Tint lasted about a year. May have more longevity on a bike...as the car was a daily driver and was not garaged.
I used the stuff years ago on a friends car tail lights. Works good, prep is key. IF you do use it: Scuff up the lens, than clean it with some denatured alcohol, spray the stuff on, did 3 coats, let it dry between each. Than cleared it after- keeps it from fading and also looks good next to cleared paint on the car....
