Default Custom nacelle speaker enclosure???

With all of the road kings out there and all the guys who want music on said road kings, I'm having a hard time believing that no one has come out with an aftermarket Nacelle that houses speakers. Something for the guys that don't want a fairing, and don't like the look of speakers bolted onto the bars and crash guards. It seems like a simple enough endeavor. Does such an item exist?

Voodoo makes a raked nacelle with a stereo enclosure which I guess is similar to what I'm looking for but I'm looking for speakers/amp, maybe a USB port to plug an iPod into. Someone could make a mint if they produced this. http://www.voodoobikeworksstore.com/...d-nacelle.html

It would be interesting to see someone come up with something. I don't know if it would have a look I would like though.

First Off, the Road King was not designed to have stereo on it. It has it's own wire harness that does not include wiring or plugs for the overlay harnesses that the Glides do.

A stereo system on a Road King can be accomplished in numerous different ways but much of this depends on how much of a Road King Purest you are.

First and least expensive is a MP3 Player and a set of ear buds. Gets the job done. Then theirs the handle bar speaker system. Cheap, Looks cheap and pretty much sounds like chit. Probably the best for the purest is the system used on the 2013 CVO Road King. Fairing Lowers with speakers and speakers in the saddle bag lids and amp and driven off an MP3 player or your phone.

For the none purest Road King Owner, there is the Aftermarket Fairing, It is set up to be quickly removed. It can house several different size speakers and the equipment to make the work and requires minimum modification to the actual bike.

I, Not being a purest I have an aftermarket fairing. I even have the installed the handle bar controls to operate the stereo with out taking my hands of the bars. I also can remove the fairing in less than a 60 seconds and put the windshield back on, pull the tour pack, also less than a 60 seconds and be back to a Road King.

My Road King is being rebuilt/repainted after being ran off the road. Needed an extended trim ring to accommodate my Truck Lite headlight so did plenty of searching, mostly on eBay. Found aftermarket nacelle's made of fiberglass (?) that could possibly be made into something like what you are wanting to do. For me, I will stay with the nostalgic Road King look but do like the Memphis Shades fairing from time to time.

This is probably the easiest (and cheapest) way to put a radio system on a Road King. I do not have this setup, but have bought MANY products from this seller. If I go stereo, this is what I will use. I thought long and hard about a batwing setup, but just couldn't bring myself to destroying the very thing that separate's a Road King from the blah-blah fairing bikes. And having the ability to snap it off with the windshield in seconds is why I am so interested.

That looks like it would serve the intended purpose but also seems when removed from the bike should be able to run on batteries and carried on your shoulder like a boombox. Yep, reminds me of the first CD player I had, a JVC boombox. And I even paid more for it than this thing.
