Ok that makes sense. I know I wouldn't have stopped pressing until the hub stopped moving in the bearing.

I'm liking the pics Suede. Don't forget to replace that compensator bolt with a shiny new one. Although you probably could re-use it. You been eating wheaties? That bolt shoulda been a lot harder to get off torqued to 175 with loctite. Or maybe you're using a big ole cheater bar.

The new HD compensator is a nice unit. .although the low oil level might make it less nice, guess you'll find out for us.

Keep this thread rolling another few weeks or so and I might just start my engine tear down to keep the forum happy.

Hmm, well we don't want that either; so what is the happy medium that keeps both ends happy?

...Yep, got the dial indicator for runout; yeah, the hub gets mashed in till it stops and like Alan said-it'll stop on whichever bearing you have. Hmm, sounds like it's gonna have to have more oil in there then what Bandit says....

Hey Matt-Funny you mention the bolt, I was gonna replace it but never ordered it and now I'm lazy, book says replace but, well, I may re-put! You been eating wheaties? That bolt shoulda been a lot harder to get off torqued to 175 with loctite. Or maybe you're using a big ole cheater bar. Small breaker bar, still, it gave with less struggle then it should have!

I'll drag it out some more to get you going, you might as well get cracking!

I ain't got no dog and it's always nice to see everyone's dog shots but I'll see if the neighbors will let me use theirs as a model for some pics

Today I guess will just be a clean threads/bolts day, doubt I'll put anything together, gotta pace myself ya know.

So just ran out to a store and found a craftsman large, flat-tip screwdriver in the middle of the road, so that's a bonus!

Also, got jealous of you guys with dogs so made myself an imaginary dog friend, named him Spot. Good guy, he's pretty chill, just hangs out with me.

I just got off the phone with John at Bandit Clutch, nice guy to talk to like HD Pilot says, answered my questions. I mentioned to him about the directions not having any mention of the dots lining up and he said I was the first person to make him aware of that and that he would look into that.

I talked to him about the stack height measurement and the amount of fluid of Bandit saying to minimize clutch drag is why they state 14oz and HD stating 40oz, so, we'll see, I don't think there is a sure way to satisfy both and it's just a balance of issues one has to accept for now.

I asked him if it is necessary or prudent to use loctite on the spring screws that go in the pressure plate, he said they don't do it in their shop but a person could and it wouldn't hurt if one wanted to.

There's no specified torque amount on those screws, just seat them snug/securely.

Well, I guess that is it for the moment.

I'll get a pic of the bird James and post it.

That was my main issue when deciding what clutch setup to go with. I ruled out the bandit cause I didn't like the low level of oil.....that was also before baker came out with their setup and there were speculations of dark horse coming up its their own design.

You stock comp definitly won't like the 14oz of fluid and on top of that the none synthetic. ATF- Type F is the best on the bandit, but you can run other fluids that are not Synthetic. Luckily the Baker comp is now available......could Santa possible show up w/ one still?

As for those screw that hold the springs you just seat them snug (doesn't take much) cause the pressure from springs also keeps it in check.

Yes sir. It doesn't use the same oiling method as te stock comp and not to mention it's been proven as a solid setup on the pre 06 bikes.

If you have some funds from Black Friday and Christmas shopping I would highly recommend getting it since that is a pretty major part left stock in your entire badass primary setup.

When I open up my primary to install my new baker tensioner I'm going to take a real close look and see if I will be making that purchase as well. I've been hearing some banging/knocks when cold from primary......could just need the comp but to be tightened, but expecting the worst from my comp.

My baker is already showing wear. Hard to say if that's from low fluid levels or 147ft lbs... I wouldn't spend the money on it til your comp starts acting up

Just reading up on the Baker site and it says fill your primary with 40oz.

Good grief.
