I’m about to close on this bike sat..... where the bottom of the frame has a cross support under the engine I saw what looked like rusty water stains where the cross member meets the frame..... I have to take a better look sat but any of you guys see rust on your frames...... I’d prefer not to buy a bike that is rusting lol. To me it seems like water seeped down the frame and exited out in this location but a rusty color. Could be nothing but I’m looking for some insite. I didn’t take pic so sorry .... it just looked like a rusty water stain
No way walk on. There’s a lot flood bikes back you way less than scrupulous people are trying to dump. Hints like that it’s been that wet is a bad thing. Even if they have been gone over the gremlins are coming.

that’s something I thought too. I think I’ll drive the two hrs to the Harley dealer just to bring it up to them and tell them I’m walking in person..... maybe I’ll get my deposit back.... if not I’ll have 500$ in frigan clothing 🤷♂️...... thing is that the bike has cob webs on it so I figured that shows me it wasn’t under water. But better to be safe and walk. Thanks
The water did not seep down the frame, what you saw was where it drained out. Cobwebs are not proof that the bike was not in a flood at some point in its life. Even if it doesn't have a salvage title, I would run from a rusty frame on a 2017.

its just rustys water stains but thanks I’m def walking. Tuff time for a used bike by me. I just lost my m8 lowrider from 3.5 ft of water. I’ll just keep looking and now I’ll prolly wait for a 2022 and buy new
I think there was a bulletin on this where the belt guard plugged a drain hole and caused this issue. May want to check into it. There was a post sometime back, use the search function.

I know a dude who bought a used Sportster which must have been stored outside because the bottom of the frame was rust holding hands. He took it to mechanic who told him it’s a common problem.
