On that we are in complete agreement.

I have no idea why you have YOUR in uppercase. It is the "SEARS RED JACK MODIFICATION" thread. I have a red Sears jack that look just like all those posted, but it is slightly older, and has narrower lift arms. If you had read all my posts you would understand the issue I had (past tense). The pics cleared it up.

As a note, I stated the lift arms are narrower. The spacers wouldn't make a bit of difference since the lift arms are hitting the jiffy (as stated in my post).

New jack is the only remedy I can see

This is a GREAT thread, but it sure has been controversial.....

I can't disagree. But I have no recourse either. As the results of conversations with friends, I will add this:

If you use a cantilever design. Or make any modifications to a lifting device. - USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

How wide is that jiffy stand?

As wide as everyone else's stock stand. If I straddle the bike and put the stand up, it will go under the bike. Risky situation I'm trying to avoid

There's no need to straddle the bike. As you slide the jack underneath, grab the closest handlebar grip and pull the bike a little more upright. Bada-bing! The jack easily slides under.

Puff, it almost seems like you may think the fat bob is different than other dynas in this thread. I can assure you it is the same. I used my jack to pick up my buds '12 fat bob without issue.

It's been noted that some members were trying to lift the bike from the kickstand side. Not the correct way to lift a bike, at least not a dyna.

I had a feeling it would be fine but without a sporty handy to test I couldn't say for sure.

The jack mod; dyna, earthquake, sportster-approved.

Ill be damned. Mine is also 12-11/16"
Up to now I was under the impression my modified jack was still not working because of how low my bike is.

I didn't get this jack new so I have no idea how old it is. They must have changed the design of the jack since mine was made.

Wonder if I should just get a new jack at this point...

I got a 06 lowrider, my modified jack is 18'' wide I can't slide it underneath perfectly is it because the lowrider is lower than other dyna(if so do I only have to grab one handlebar and get the bike more upright?), second question should I put the head of the bolt inside or outside (outside is like in the quoted picture mentionned higher in this page ?)
