I know dyno sheets aren't really useful for anything but look what someone is getting out of a 103" using a Wood TW6 cam:

That Andrews 54h would also get you pulling like a freight train.

I checked out the SE stg 4 kit you got. All that, and they can only say about 100hp? For that cash, I'd want at least 110+.

If you did:

103" stage 1 - $600.
Heads ported/polished/machined to bump compression 10:1 or so - $500
Adjustable pushrods-$150
Cams of your choice - $300 (being liberal here; good deals to be had all over)...

You'd definitely be getting better power AND saving a wad of cash.

If you're going to pull the heads, save yourself another $150.00 and use your existing pushrods. They are 1 piece vs 4 and they are lighter. I don't know why you would use them unless you expect to change your cams again. In that case I would think that you didn't plan too well in the first place. JMO

Don, are you speaking to me? I'm not pulling the heads and I am going to reuse my stock PR.

in my build i have a little over $2g that is with me and chad doing all the labor

in mine, i have my heads done (with compression release), welded and trued crank, lefty bearing, tapered adjst push rods, andrews 37 cams, flat top SE pistons and Jugs, baker IP bearing, barnett race spring, and the power pulley

It is getting dyno'd this week, so i can post up my dyno charts when i get them back. i was able to save a TON of money by doing the work ourselves and buying Chads old jugs and pistons. (of course the machine shop checked them out to ensure they are useable)

All necessary tools to do a cam swap. Package deal. (Not my auction). Presently at $150.

Wish I had the cash...sounds like a great deal.

At what point does stock pushrod length become an issue if you're milling heads and/or changing gasket thickness? I thought people used adjustable rods for proper tolerance.

See, I really do own them. lol I feel like I should start claiming them as a dependant as they've been living in the house so long. lmao

I had a plan to install them this week but then I got an invite to ride out to Myrtle Beach for a beer this saturday. Doing a quick rundown in my head I would not have had time to do the install AND ride down to bike week. Put on hold for a few days. I hate being unemployed or I'd call the babysitter to watch my lil girl while I went to wrench. Oh and I realized, my baby sitter looks a little like Miranda Lambert with short hair.

Not completely sure about this but i believe the part # for the cam spacer kit is 25285-08, goes for $17.95 retail. Lot cheaper than buying each individual spacer. I didn't know this when i did mine.

anyone out there with a stage 1 with different cams? I heard SE251 makes the bike runs better here. Heard of a couple newer dyna's with that combo instead of going 103". Can anyone pitch in with some info on cams at stage 1?
