I'm in a right pickle... Parked the bike yesterday and this morning it wouldn't start. Noticed that there's no lights on the speedo - no key, no engine light, no odometer! The turn signals don't flash and the bike won't start, altho you can hear the fuel pump when you flick the run switch!
Other things to note: the horn still works, the right rear sig doesn't light (I have HD's run-turn-brake module installed). It's not a bulb, I switched the plugs in the tail light harness so there's a problem upstream of there...
I had a buddy test the fuses and they all seem ok!!!
Any thoughts on where to start looking next?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I already missed the local show'n'shine and really don't want to have to tow it to a shop :-/
Make sure it is the TSSM befor you buy one because they are about 300 bucks and being electronic there are no returns, my wifes TSSM went out on her bike and everything still worked just the turn signals would not flash and they are very sensitive. You might try finding a TSM on ebay cheap and try the only differance between is the TSSM is the security and flashers and the TSM is just a flasher basicly and Harley can check it for you to see if it is bad
So we traced it all the way back to the TSSM module not getting power, there was continuity between the power wire at the console and the power wire at the TSSM module but not between the battery and the TSSM. We checked the fuses again and lo, the battery fuse was blown - it looked ok but tested bad!
The rear right running light still won't work but the signals are fine... Guess that the run-turn-brake module blew and tripped the fuse on it's way out. Bummer, I really liked having three lights back there but I don't know if I want to drop another $60... I only had it for 2-3 months :-/
